  • Good work, Thanks for the tutorial

  • You are awesome, Mark!!

  • how about the built in hdr in my slr?does it work good?

  • another thing every time i make an hdr photo it doesnt look like thoes stunning hdr pictures in google... it looks over done and ugly..i use hdr effects pro... it might be that i dont know how to do the maping tone correclty any suggestions?

  • man you are the best teacher in the world i love all of your videos...i'd like to suscribe...but as soon as i suscribe to a you tube chanel i dont know where to find the videos...someone help please

  • Photoshop can't replace photomatix on hdr images.. Thats my opinion.

  • This is like a boring cooking show, with a super cheesy host/actor. 1:30-2 I feel like Im watching the weather channel

  • Big thanks to crackers&hackers who made patches so we all can use latest software, like Photoshop...thumbs up for them!

  • Bracketing (for the most part) is a waste of Memory Card space. A single, good shot can be edited in Photoshop using Curves. Usually, move the curve up one grid box for an over-exposed photo, and one grid box down for an under-exposed photo. 95% of the time you can get great HDR photos with only 3 photos.

Also, Photomatix is far superior to Photoshop for HDR stuff. Better looking photos hands down !!

Great video as always though, Mark !!! Can't wait for the CreativeLive weekend !!!

What do you guys think of my photos?

  • original looks better!

  • what lense did you use in this episode?

  • thanks for sharing mr.wallace..: )

  • I have heard a lot of pros and cons about HDR but never understood what it was. Now That I understand it a little more I think I will be trying to see what I can do. Thanks for the great training videos you produce!

  • Can you shot one single RAW and change the exposure value and output 3 image with +/-2 and 0 setting ?

In this case, the frame is the same and save some matching work (remove ghost)

However, I find Photo shop can not recognize the EV setting, but other software I choose manually with the setting and get some ok result

  • @KelvinEF No Kevin, it doesn't work that way. When you shoot an image RAW it records light info for that particular exposure up to certain shadows and certain highlights. When you underexpose you record more shadows that the original image didn't have, when you overexpose you record more highlights that your original image didn't have. So HDR is really broadening the amount of info available.

  • thank you very much... this actually solves a lot of problem with lighting

  • @ErnieCosmo totally agree

  • how about tutorial for infrared photography... :)

  • If yu shoot RAW, just underexpose it, not too much, and post process in PS or Lightroom (preferably using curves, bc u get the best results), Nikon also has a great feature called active D-lighting, that brings detail out in tthe background, and has a sorto of uto HDR in the D5100

  • Or press 9 quikly to see Mark wan....ing

    :D

  • Press 6 quickly......

    PHEW!

  • Just LOVE the bloopers

  • Hello can you do a video on how to get great pictures with one flash, light source, or portable photography

  • Love HDR.

  • Most of the examples of HDR just look horrible to me. The idea sounds great on paper, but rarely does the execution look any good to me. Nothing against this vid of course, but the before looks world better.

  • haha, I rock at HDRi. Wish I could link my photo blog.

  • @room28ministries well...you could link to your photo blog...

  • HDR is a technique used in astistic and realistic ways, imho, in this tut, Mark used both... I prefer using it Realistic so it's almost not notable for the viewer. That wasn't a good photo for HDR afterall. The diference between the trees and the sky wasn't THAT much. I think Mark would've succeded better if He used a confined dark place with windows brighted out. Anyway that was a nice explanation!

  • Mark you're very entertaining in the bloopers!

  • I think I liked the original image more, but it was truly a great tutorial about HDR images and really explains HDR well, so great work.

  • Mark, recently you have been using Nikon more than Canon. Any special reason?

  • @ashkibala1 don't ask that question pls it's totally irrelevant ><

  • @KayFrankThomas canon is the sponsor of many videos, companies, tutorials and DVDs. i want to know if Nikon is becoming the sponsor of AdoramaTV or not.

  • Comment removed

  • @ashkibala1 Pretty dumb question..

  • @MrMatz45 it's not dumb. canon is the sponsor of many videos, companies, tutorials and DVDs. i want to know if Nikon is becoming the sponsor of AdoramaTV or not.

  • @ashkibala1 And if you know, what's the point?

  • @MrMatz45 what's your point of asking me about my point? that's my point too.

  • @Shaun3x me too

  • why do these HDR images always look like oil paintings? I don't get it!

  • Great stuff! One thing I noticed. Before the gamma tweak, everything was a bit better, at least in my point of view. But anyways, Thanks Mark, for this great one. :)

  • Nice, i'm glad you didn't do the typical Photomatix tut! Thanks!

  • second lol great job anyway :)

  • First
