menos mal que la banda se fue a Londres y terminaron pagando caro el precio por no seguir una dirección clara!! Si no Bon, seguramente no hubiera llegado a conocer a los hermanos Young; y hoy no tendríamos acdc!..
MAN !!!! Where the FUCK did you find this. BON doing seasons. I'd heard he played recorder or something with Blackfeather but didn't know this vid existed. THANX FOR POSTING. LEGENDARY.
Bon's look reminds me of watching a show like "Against The Wind" in the Seventies ... about convicts. How different does this Legend look compared to his "wildness" in AC/DC's clips? Loved seeing & hearing it though. Thanks so much boccca2 for posting this legendary stuff for all of us to enjoy : ) Bon really could sing but hey, we all knew that already hey fellow Bon fans/addicts?!
Bon Scott was the "pearls" and AC/DC was the "pigs".
"Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces."
@TabascoKitten I wouldn't say that. I'd say AC/DC was a perfect example of how wide the spectrum of Bon's talent really stretched. He could make thought provoking music, with the kind of singing to go along with it, while also making sexual songs. He was a true lyrical genius.
@Bobofjudia Don't misunderstand me. I liked his stuff with AC/DC. I think he was a terrific rock 'n' roll singer.
I also think he was clearly more though, a lot more. It's in that sense that I say AC/DC was a misuse of his talent. I just saw this video for the first time a few weeks ago and I was shocked. I found myself wondering how it was that things went so horribly wrong for him. He seemed like a nice guy.
Did his association with AC;/DC ultimately kill him as someone suggested?
@TabascoKitten Perhaps. Regardless of the rumor that his wife left him because of "She's Got Balls", it was actually him joining AC/DC that made her leave him. If you're one of the people that believe he committed suicide, this may have lead to his death. By the way, if this surprises you, you should really check out "Carey Gully". His voice is amazing in that.
@TabascoKitten I sometimes think that too. If he was, we wasn't very vocal about it. In his own words, "You can't make excuses to an audience." That was just his philosophy on preforming.
If you listen to the interviews on vaults, there's some interviews where his voice sounds extremely worn out, and raspy, however, he says some of the most inspiring things I've ever heard. I suggest you check those out too, if you haven't already.
@Bobofjudia In my female view, he's a perfect example of the trouble some men can get into when they don't have a good woman to tame them. That may sound silly or even offensive, but I believe it. (I'm a woman) He never should have divorced his wife. Although I liked his work with AC/DC that was not the environment he needed, imo. I think he would have been terrific in musical theatre...would loved to have seen him in Jesus Christ Superstar.
@Bobofjudia That's very unfortunate...about his wife. I didn't know him of course, but he seemed like a sweet guy. He had charisma, mega sex appeal and a lot of talent. Truly one of a kind. Very sad.
@TabascoKitten I've read quite a bit about Scott's life both before and during his time with ACDC and from what I can gather he was a far more complicated, intelligent and sensitive person than his stage persona let on. I think Bon was in a similar position as Cobain towards the end of his life in that he was at odds with his public persona (which was always very playful and tongue in cheek). He even expressed a desire to settle down with a single partner (to friends and relatives)
@ritter89 I read somewhere that both of the Young brothers were getting married or planning on getting married. I think Scott even went to one of their weddings just prior to his death. If true this would have been extremely depressing for a lonely older guy. I also heard that he had been diagnosed with liver problems as a result of the heavy drinking. Imagine standing there watching two people get married and thinking about that.
@TabascoKitten We think alike :-). Although Bon's time w/ ACDC was definitely well spent, the nature of that genre (hard blues-based rock) prevents full exploration of musical chops. His considerable skills on percussive and wind instruments were never utilized (save the bagpipes) and his vocals were limited to raspy falsetto. Scott was also quite a bit older than the rest of the band (close to 33). Personally, I only listen to Bon Scott era ACDC--even though I was just a kid at the time
@ritter89 I never cared for AC/DC post post Bon Scott either.
You know, it's funny seeing 33 as the "older guy". That definitely doesn't seem old to me now :) That seems young and it was young. Way too young to die.
@ritter89 Perhaps Bon Scott realized that it was better to make a final curtain call at 33 than end up looking like AC/DC now.
I'm sorry but...these guys need to pack it in and put on the tweed. Brian Johnson especially. He looks like an aged taxi driver. That flabby gut with those spindly arms is a far cry from a young and toned Bon Scott. They look absurd. My god.
@TabascoKitten , I agree with you, ritter89 and Bobofijudia. You really know what you're talking about. Check out Bon singing Jupiter's Landscape, another Fraternity song, absolutely stunning vocals.
Still sends goosebumps down my spine. Just love all the woodwind. Why don't we get songs and performances like this now instead of all that American twangy, nasally note stuff
@JusticieroBurning I don't like AC/DC. Their 3 chord cock rock doesn't interest me anymore. It's simplistic. I used to love it when I was 16, but I grew out of it.
I'll admit I'm really not a fan of ACDC, but anytime I see footage of Bon out the front of ACDC I just go "woah...." - great frontman
As a non-fan, I can say without a doubt that while Brian is an ok singer, he could never truly replace Bon. And personally, I find all the post-Bon records totally suck - there's no raw energy.
I've watched this several times over the years. I'm not sure how the timeline works out, but it really seems to me like this might have been a led zeppelin wannabe band. Bon finally found his own way, in a sense, with AC/DC.
Christ Almighty Bon was such a good singer. Even "fill me up buttercup." Long Live old AC/DC. Dirty deeds and a done dirt cheap oooohhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!
"And now we're going to take our brush and paint some lovely clouds over these mountains that just pop out. Right there. And maybe a few more over here and just let the brush do it's magic as it goes over these clouds over here. Oh! And lookit what we got here, this nice spot, let's paint a sun right over all of it..."
awesome vid friend i actually have all of bons old stuff b4 AC/DC it is different but i respect it cause every performer starts out one way or another and fraternity and the valentines among others was bons he was a true gem and hes still very missed
@smilingbutt It's true. I've been saying the same thing for years. In many ways, ACDC never utilized the full range of his voice due to the genre (rock). He must have had a great ear. He was one of the few popular vocalist from that period who could scream/shout in key. Not many singers can do that, at least not well. Cobain, Morrison, Plant (in his younger yrs), Joplin (sometimes) and only a few others could compete with Bon in terms of live vocals
Completely counters his AC/DC image, hilarious! - like a real-life Spinal Tap! Not meant as a put down, though, Bon Scott and AC/DC are rock n roll legends.
this is actually good music the groove at 1.50 is wonderful. This song, canyon suites and you have a good but listening to them fels like listnening to Scott's funeral, but then... I'll just put on the Highway to hell and roll If you want blood:)
Bon could probably sing country if you wanted him to. Knew Bon sounded good. Didn't know he could sing that good.

Whats with Bon and being in bands had a guitarist with a Gibson SG? The Valentines, Fraternity, and of course AC/DC.

It's nice that Bon Scott had a diverse career. It really is a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll.

@praetorianus72 hahah, thats too funny! he was going through depression and had to pay the bills once The Valentines imploded with the drug scandal.
you can see though as the front of AC/DC he was at his best.

Bon was a far more versatile singer than he was ever given credit for - this is great proof
smilingbutt 1 year ago
@smilingbutt It's true. I've been saying the same thing for years. In many ways, ACDC never utilized the full range of his voice due to the genre (rock). He must have had a great ear. He was one of the few popular vocalist from that period who could scream/shout in key. Not many singers can do that, at least not well. Cobain, Morrison, Plant (in his younger yrs), Joplin (sometimes) and only a few others could compete with Bon in terms of live vocals

John Bissett ex Action very trippy boys

Completely counters his AC/DC image, hilarious! - like a real-life Spinal Tap! Not meant as a put down, though, Bon Scott and AC/DC are rock n roll legends.
