no. what you would do then is run

5.03 mhu. this will play all old games

and if you want to play a newer game

then decrypt it. That way you can play any

game you want. Btw, you should see

I tried to decrypt Splinter Cell Essentials but I get an error "you have downloaded xmen 2 iso, very bad guy... its a fake dump" and it shuts off.

Is it because I previously optimized the ISO in UMDgen or is it because SCE isn't supported?

it should, im on the same firmware you are and everytime i try to find something about it, the umdgen and yoshiro stuff kept coming up.

Thats correct. Technically they're not "gen games" its games that require firmware 5.55+. I recommend you update to gen d2 though cos it decrypts it on the fly.

actually why are you even decrypting the games? You have GEN D2 and it should work?  If you're decrypting for someone using M33 get them to upgrade.

Filename has to be short!. Initially it was a really long file name and you just get a blank screen with the memory card light flashing.

Yes. You can use decrypter V4 on 5.03 GEN A.

The files you can safely remove is EBOOT.BIN in the root of the memory stick and EBOOT.BIN in the DECRYPTOR folder

There isnt a CFW based on 5.55. This tutorial allows you to play games on CFW lower than 5.55+
