who is charlie rose to question and laugh at bill gates for trying to take on the search sector. Love or hate Bill Gates... I wouldnt laugh at him if he thinks he can do it. I think its safe to say Gates has proven himself time and time again.
Our world is hostage to the insatiable rampaging of the ruling class private gain and greed, dominating, dehumanising, devaluing everyone and everything in the midst. We can and must change the wage slavery of immense humanity in a market system of artificial scarcity . We can share the world for our common needs and well being in harmony within and without.
wow thanks for giving your 90million dollars to the peice of shit Memhis City Schools. We need to give ghetto niggers laptops and PC's to educate them so they can be rich like us. Whoops they stole them and sold them.
Plain Jane Goodall, Jacques Cousteau, Prince Phillip, Ted Turner, Obama, Julian & Aldous Huxley, Bertand Russell, Margaret Sanger, Adolf Hitler, Herbert Geo. Wells, Paul Ehrlich {of "The Population Bomb"/"End of Affluence" infamy}, Oliver Wendell Holmes & Pol Pot are unapologetic eugenicists. They preach "bio-ethics"; "animal rights" & "sustainability" which ALWAYS subjects the impoverished people of the Earth to forced sterilizations/abortions, vaccinations & "euthanasia."
The most fundamental question of all: What is the underlying law of nature.
As the way of all things, what effect do you suppose its question, knowledge, understanding and application by billions of persons would have on the state of global economics, science, the humanities, education, government and business?
I saw this intervie when it first came out and to me what it showed was when you come right down to it, Gates is nothing but salesman. That`s all he is. The most successful salesman in history, but a salesman none the less. If he never got into computers he`d be selling used cars and making a fortune at it.
Bill was HANDED a silver spoon when IBM decided that it did not want to enter the software arena (big mistake?) but it turns out that he is an historic figure because he ran with the ball.
All part of the unseen hand of capitalism.
Charlie is so incredibly skilled at drawing up the best in his interviewees.
Nice Nice Video. I really loved your video. Youtube can be a great asset for you. If you need any help getting your video exposed, check out this site called tubeviews [dot net] It has really done wonders for me, I have built 3 Channels up with videos at top in position and this is my forth channel i'm going to working on.
Thanks for a little space to comment on your page!
Kind of let down by Gates. Think he needs to recognize the significance of wealth in real terms. I mean, this guy could employ a city for a year to just sit and watch TV and still come out all right. I want to hear some crazy idea he's attempting. Who cares about search? At least talk about what will make it better. Not boring market analysis.
Chemical weapon(illegal White Phosphorus) make by US and used by Israel . This is how power talks and how US and Israel dominated the whole world and exercise Chemical weapon in Gaza like the new Hitler of world named US + Israel Govt. Only way to defend humanity is to weaken US and Israeli economy.
Yes- he is leagues ahead of most of us at analyzing. But like most brilliant people, his ability to read others and match a tone or mood is staggeringly poor: when he needs to connect with people it is always patchy and stiff. Person to person interaction is a really difficult area for him, and it comes across well here.
It is good to see Google obtain some competition from a company that has the size and resources to be considered a player. Online searching is clearly the largest market in terms of webspace open for advertisements. Even if Microsoft in the end is not successful they will at least help the technology advance at a faster pace. While most hooting fools online just see the word Gates and begin to talk garbage most might try to see what he is saying is very truthful.
Gates is now just a figurehead, the "public face" of the otherwise faceless Microsoft (unless you count that nutcase Ballmer). Gates has read nothing but stock prices for the past 20 years and probably couldn't even understand a quarter of the coding that's being done today at Google.
This guy has massive Google Envy. Search today is "TERRIBLE"? lol. There are millions of people who, for both personal and professional reasons, would say that search is TOO good in providing you with more information than you ever expect, every time, and it's very helpful and very useful. Gates wants to limit, censor, and control that flow of information--and Microsoft's efforts at pushing fake grassroots campaigns were exposed in 2001 (see the links in the Wikipedia article on "Astroturfing").
Well, Gates is making absolute sense here. He is not denying Google or search engines in general are not helping people. He is saying, search as a science is in its infancy.
Computers were helping people 20 years back as well but look at where we've reached now. Bill is the same genius who was talking about a computer in every home back in 1975 and people ridiculed him.
On the contrary Charles Duell in 1899 said, whatever that can be invented has been invented, you are talking like him.
And 4 years later, Google is still on top.

Bill Gates gives money because he can write off his tax burden for charitable contributions.
I grew up with this tax dodge as this guy will do nothing if his bottom line can't be helped.
Nothing but a tax cheat, you tax payers foot the bill for the organized criminal to "give to the needy".

Bill should be bigger than thinking about mundane engineering problems.
Now, Bill Joy of Sun Microsystems, there is a genius. Obama should hire him in his cabinet or something.

Then again, search definitely IS terrible if you're talking about MSN/Live search, which has just now caught up to where Google was back in '99.
