I would say don't get down on yourself - don't be discouraged. Know that it is by God's grace, solely out of his love that we are saved and not by anything we can do.

Even people who already believe still have times of doubt, our souls cry out for more but they seem to have times of drought. So keep searching and reading the bible and being in prayer - God knows your heart and your mind he knows you and understands your struggle.
