It sucks man, i feel ya. It took me forever to afford an old e36 m3. I'm 23 in 4 days and selling it and hopefully using it as a down payment on an evo 9 or 10. The insurance is fairly high, there are ways to lower the rate(low miles annually, pleasure and a 2nd car as the main vehicle). Regardless, it's high because people drive them hard, get tickets, crash and break them constantly. Commonly because they didn't spend a dime to buy the car themselves, it was a handout...

Yes, the car will run too rich if the air blows into the atmosphere not unless if you have a aftermarket ECU to balance the air/fuel ratio. When running rich you will eventually foul your spark plugs and melt your catalytic converter with all that unburned fuel.
