Seen Bob in Dublin the other night Oct 6th, and he was in top form. Sang this one, BRILLIANT.........Also sang Desolation Row, which I had not seen him do live before.... Just blew me away......
This song is brilliant. I'm so sad I haven't seen Bob Dylan this year. When he played this in Seattle in 2009 the crowd was blown away. That version was on youtube for a short while but I think it has disappeared.
i know the bible and i know mental illness.my last husband had depression with suicide ideations.it was very hard watching someone like that and trying to help someone who didn't want your help.please understand my side of it.i went into hell when he divorced me for someone else wondering what i did wrong.i didn't do anything wrong.now i've rebuilt my life and i'm happy.i trust god to take care of me for man cannot.but i haven't given up on life or love.please under stand.
@Sodahpop96 I was there last night too! Wasn't the concert amazing? We thought it was going to rain because of the lightning but not a drop of rain in sight. I absolutely loved this song & Sugar Baby. It was definitely a show i will never forget!
I saw him last night here in Memphis Tennessee, and when he sang this song, this old lady yells "I love you Bobby!" It was the greatest night of my life.
@MegaDancinfool I was there, this was my favorite song, I went with my father. I hope you were in the back, too, because up high we got the most amazing view of the full moon above the ocean while this played. Quite magical. When he switched to the next song that was upbeat, I was actually a little too amazed by this still to enjoy it. When he opened with that first line in this song I was immediately awe struck. I will always have this memory.
@Mantanhattan the production in Israel was a failure. Starting with mediocre sound too weak for 45K+ stadium, video screens that were shut off mid-show, I can go on and on. Bob was actually very good, the set was fantastic and forgetful hearts was absolutely amazing! I had goosebumps throughout the song. Regarding reviews the idiot writers also complained that Bob "didn't say a word" - shows you how much they know about his shows.
About all Bob can muster is usually, "Good eveing [your city here] or a "How y'all doin' out there?" and sometimes he does a -usually- inaudible introduction of his band. I should probably go see him when he plays here near the end of the month. That clip made me want to. Thanks again for sharing!

P.S - I have also seen Leonard Cohen at the same stadium. The production difference was staggering, Cohen had it down to every last detail, the sound was unbelievably good.
Whow, great presence of the voice! Maybe I'll get to see him live again this fall. And I hope Dylan will do another album with Charlie Sexton as lead guitarist some day, like "Love and Theft"... at least he re-joined the touring band. :)
באמת? ....

gonna change my way of thinking
והשיר
cold irons bound
רק בשביל שלושת השירים הללו היה שווה להגיע

Why not? Bob's songs are steeped in bible phrases.

I just saw he do it in Santa Barbara, California. The rest of the show didn't have the magic of this beautiful slow blues song.
