1. If you expected the same thing as Civ IV you're a fucking idiot, it's made and designed for facebook and they're changing the looks and gameplay to appeal to the more diverse facebook audience

3. Civilization is about building an empire to stand the test of time, not about you using England on an island map to murder other nations.

I've played the Beta a little. This is not Civ. It is a Facebook game that is Civ-like. Totally uninteresting to a die-hard Civ fan. Sid and Firaxis have obviously decided that making money is the primary goal. Civ 5 was complete waste of money. Civ is dead as we know it. Maybe some other developer will decide to fill the void. I've given up on Firaxis.
Don't you guys get it? I'm not a big fan of what I'm seeing either, but Firaxis/2K isn't marketing this to the same Civ IV or Civ V crowd. They might think they are, but this is for the Farmville/Mafia Wars crowd and it's going to be the holy grail of facebook games.

@Citylife10 Hot seat may not matter to you... but it does to me. In cIV me and my friend played over 20 games since 2009 alone. And had a tremendous amount of fun. Anyway if you can't explain why the current economic system works in 5 then all i can say is that in 4 you took a loss when you made a city, you had to manage your growth with your science and gold. Now the more city's you have the more gold and science you get, there is no reason not to build more cities ever.

If your not rewarded for building up your cities... it's no longer an empire building game... it's just a spam out cities game... and to me that isn't fun at all. Not to mention the terrain values all suck now... there is no differentiation between them all worth 3 at the best... it makes it so it doesn't matter where you spam your cities, there are no good or bad spots.

A Civ such as Catherine for instance, would have a huge penalty if what you wanted would be implemented into Civ 5, since the Catherine AI loves to expand based on history.
This looks outstandingly good, and a perfect way to introduce Civ to a whole new generation of players. Having a good facebook game that properly takes advantage of the facebook platform excites me, and this will allow me to fit a little bit of fun Civ gameplay into each day, without being a huge time investment like a main title of the series.
This is a side project guys, they aren't stopping making PC and Mac games, if you don't like it don't play it!
at least "nice" *cough* to see that firaxis also took a step after civ 4 to go for money and many casual players rather than making a nice and indept game for the real fans that made this serie big.
I am looking forward to this game, but now I'm very disapointed with the visuals. I don't want another FarmVille clone! Cmon Firaxis, Civilization can (and should) have its own style! Fix it please.

I am looking forward to this game, but now I'm very disapointed with the visuals. I don't want another FarmVille clone! Cmon Firaxis, Civilization can (and should) have its own style! Fix it please.
