The Nissan GT-R was the first sport car to break the famous German track in under 8 minutes when it first came out. And now the new 2012 Nissan GT-R even beat the Corvette ZR1 by 2 seconds on the famous German track on a slightly wet track as well.

@coolerdude44 I do reviews for edmunds and i can firmly say that you need to drive the mustang before you call it "underengineered." The 2010 mustang offers much better performance then its predecessors and is a great car for what its priced. However, i can say that they did misplace it as the alternative car for the 370z..the Mazda MX-5 Miata would've come to my mind before a mustang.

@Popper3300 sorry, but i think any car with a live rear axle is underengineered. the mustang will never be as dynamic as this nissan.

i've heard that the new mustang feels way better to drive than the old one, but i did drive a 2008 mustang, and i found it horrible. the brakes, interior, engine, suspension, quality, etc was all horrible. that's where my hate for the car came from.

while the new one is better, i would never consider it until it gets modern suspension.

Well up here in northern states, the mustang isn't the ideal car for the winter. In fact, its probably the worst, having an AWD would help with the weather issue.

@Popper3300 i live in the northeast, and i actually learned to drive on a mustang in the winter right after a snowstorm (hence me saying i drove an 08 model and hated it). that was almost two years ago now, but the bottom line is that i never had an issue driving it in the snow. nor have i ever had an issue with any of my family's front/rear wheel drive cars in the snow, as long as they have good tires and traction control.

so, i don't see the point to a 4wd muscle car.

Actually, technically the Mustang is not that much cheaper. The V6 version is as fast a Honda Civic Si so that's out. The V8 version is still slower then this car and would require the sport package to compete performance wise. In the end, the prices would be VERY similar.

Then I started getting into these hectic commutes where I'd be talking on the phone, smoking and spilling coffee while trying to pull out some sort of document from my binder, all while shifting.

I love driving stick, but I've found that today's world requires free hands. Countless lives have been spared b/c the car I drive is auto and has bluetooth audio. If I get a Z, it'll be auto for this reason. I know I'm not the only multitask commuter out there.

The camaro is just more. More weight, more size, more horses. It does have indipendent rear suspension. But more isnt always better. It will be interesting when a mag does that comparison.

Camaro has a backseat, I could never justify 30-36K on a two-seater. The 370z matches the acceleration of the SS but stops faster and corners faster than the Camaro SS (higher lateral g's (.90 to .99). The Nissan also beats the SS's gas mileage 16/26 to 16/24. Which is not that much. The V8 SS is surely to guzzle more when having fun. The SS does have x2 as many speakers as the 370z, and the top SS package has 18 speakers vs the Touring's 8.
