  • @DOWHARDSTYLE - yes, this is my voice. thanks for the compliment. I've always found my voice rather obnoxious. It was hard to let go of that feeling and use it for the documentary, but I didn't really have any other choice.

  • Is this Your voice used in this documentary?

  • I Like Your Voice, Is this your voice ?

  • sound is the punctuation of silence not the other way round.

in the begining there was silence then....

there is no sound in space for it is in a vacum.

  • Ive been searching for this one sequence thats in a early Alfred Hitchcock movie:

The woman sees a dead body and screams. The scream is transitioned to the sound of a train whistle blowing.

I thought it was in "Blackmail", but I just saw it and didnt see it. anyone know which film Im talking about?

  • I believe that scene appears in "The 39 Steps."

  • fribee: I would love to talk more about it, message me if you're interested! it's a point I feel that can be examined from many arenas.

    bumdog: I didn't and haven't gone to film school.....yet.

  • i would've liked to have seem alittle bit of this about the silence in comedy. but thats just a personal preference of mine. but i think you did a good job of explaining how well total silence can impact a movie. its rare now a days that we dont have background music playing. i'd actually like to go indepth bout this.

  • Very well done. I think film schools are pointless, but this alone might make it worth it.

  • school films are not pointless the film-makers can be pointless
