  • There is no good reason for doing this. It seems as if it can only lead to back problems. Where's the data? I want to interview 50 and 60 year old "dead-lifters". Just doesn't seem worth it. Stupid, absolutely pointless and potentially dangerous accomplishment.

  • @DaveCraig91 depends on type of bar. Some bars have different flex, depending on how they are made and what discipline they are for. (and how much you pay for them!)

    Bear foot means more stable and wide legs allow u to lift more weight because your engaging more muscles.

  • @frostness007 If you use a wider stance, they are called Sumo dead lifts. Most of the world records are set by using this kind of lift. You can't use an alternating grip so it might be a little more difficult at first.

  • How advantageous is it to deadlift for reps in your suit? I'm trying to break a Canadian deadlift record but I'm only a junior until the end of the year. I've been doing heavy goodmorings...not many deaflifts in my suit leading up to my next competition (it's in 1 week!)...I deadlift conventional, any advice?

  • It's a standard sumo deadlift with perfect form you fucking moron. The sumo deadlift is a deadlift meant to improve both your deadlift and squatting strength. I can guarantee you can't deadlift that much weight in any style.

  • Sumo stance is official and accepted in the competitions. In Sumo stance you dont need to lift as much as in normal. I personally prefer the normal stance, I count this as cheating, but it isn't..

  • It depends on your body proportions. Google "deadlift vs sumo deadlift" and have a bit of a look for an article which will tell you the difference. Basically though sumo (that style there) is a little more leg and less back than the conventional.
