@cduggan1980 Firstly we didn't qualify for them... but we did make 2002. Plenty of 'great' players never made it to the world cup stage. Plenty of 'bad ' players set the world alive at tournaments. Its all relative. You can think that Keane is shit if you like... and you can say Big mick is a legend... But having big mick on the side lines in 2002 and roy on the plane home didn't help our cause when we had spain there for the taking. Bet you think Torres is a star too.. he's just a passenger.

yeah of course keano had the right to complain, but he deserted his team too. it doesn't matter what your job is, you have to pay some respect to authority, no matter how bad you think it is. think of it this way, ireland drew with cameroon with kinsella & holland in midfield, we were way better in the 2nd half. if keane was there we could've won, topped the group and taken germany's path to the final.we maybe could've won, and every replica irish shirt would have a little star over the crest.
