Floyd Patterson was robbed by Jimmy Ellis. Floyd broke Ellis's nose and knocked him down in the 14th round. Floyd was also robbed by Jerry Quarry. He won the most rounds, but the points system gave the fight to Quarry. Only Liston and Ali really beat Floyd with the exception of the fluke with Johansson and close loss to Maxim.
Very underated fighter. He was a light heavyweight fighting heavyweights. 7 of his 8 losses were to guys who outweighed him by 10-20 pounds. His only loss to a guy his weight was a close decsion to a young Jerry Qaury at 32 years old.
LOOKKK AT MY BIG COUSIN I NEVER GOT TO MEET HIM BUT STILL FLOYD PATTERSON IS THE BEST he is my mothers mother fathers sister or brothers son HAHAHA I LUV SAYIN THT
Funny how Floyd Patterson really fought like a miniature Joe Frazier. Probably due to his Cus D'Amotto training, bob and weave hooks and uppercuts, hand speed etc. The style reached it's peak in the controlled power and speed of Tyson. Funny how Floyd Patterson's name is not usually mentioned with the likes of Joe Frazier, Marciano, and certainly not Mike Tyson, but Patterson fought in that style. He was, unfortunatley, not powerful enough, big enough, and had a pretty weak chin when he was hit
I appreciate all of your comments. My father was a man who loved the game of Boxing and also believed wholeheartedly in the importance of being a champion outside as well as inside the ring. I miss him but I know in the hearts of many he lives on.... Floyd Patterson, II
I respect Floyd not only for the fact that he was a great boxer but for the fact that he was so small for a heavyweight and knocked dudes the fuck out

He was obviously past his best when he fought Ali.
Like a lighter version of Mike Tyson, well maybe without the footwork. But just as electric.

Floyd always looked like he was sad about something :(
He was a great fighter and a great human being. I hope he retired feeling happy about his career.
