Still the best MMO I've ever played. This game is really equipment based in the long run with it's incredible loot generator. No classes and straight forward skill system make it fun to play. The best part is that it's almost twitch based combat instead of auto repeat attacks like most MMO's. This was basically unintentional by the developers but it really is what made it the best game I've played. Finally unsubscribed in 2010 after signing up in Dec of 1999. Was a sad day.

@Xanerithe 11 years is a long time. Plus I stopped for a bit and didn't pay my housing and someone looted all my gear that was in my chests and walls. Too hard to rebuild those perfect bows and retinker everything with the lower populations not to mention gathering all that salvage without people in the marketplace selling mass quantities. That was real the dagger, not the actual game. Now if they offered pay-to-play salvage type marketplace, then I might fire it up again.

The graphics may be outdated, but hey, the game was made in 2004. Plus, it's better than all the crappy games out right now. WAY better than WoW, Rift, and all those mainstream games. Gameplay like no other.

@halobm Wrong, this game was rated 10 out of 10 on the gamers list and ranked #1 all-time in MMO history. Therefore everything you just said was complete and utter non-sense, if you played this game which its obvious you haven't then you wouldn't say anything bad about it. Stick to your carebear WoW unbalanced easy PVP system, its where you belong.

I would say the graphic's needs a little tune up... but i don't judge a game just on graphic's alone. Don't tell me to go play WoW and EQ and get both since they both have horrible gameplay. i will try it just because it is a old game and not some new game that allows you to be god if you spend a little money.

sorry for triple post but i had a flashback of tutorial entry to this game back in 99.. (DT) around 20-30 newbies in this tutorial area slaughtering each other then porting out to get slaughtered by high level players outside.. omg was it the funniest, most fun time to be a newb.. took me 2 hours just to get another lifestone.

imagine this game being out and being the first of its kind.. comparable follower = Darkfall whom the developers have stated got many, if not all of their base ideas from AC. Everquest paved the way for casual sit-on-my-ass-while-eating and clicking 1 button WoW. AC (Darktide) is a prime example that you cannot be multitasking while playing.

@internaut2 Paved the way for EQ? Lol, this game came out after Everquest, so that's not true at all. In fact, there's really not even that many similarities between the two games so I'm not sure where you came to that conclusion.

As for WoW, it's obvious to anyone who's actually played both Everquest and Asheron's call that WoW was majorly based off of Everquest. There's really no similarities between AC and WoW either.

I'm a fan of AC, but I still felt the need to point that out.
