@ACjazzRules essentially that is correct. People come up with all these ideas that the aircraft will HAVE to lift up at EXACTLY 153.5 kias or calculate it all by the books lol. We are required to calculate v1 and 2, but honestly, the damn plane is off the ground at around 160 to 170. It doesn't matter what speed you calculated because unless it's a fighter jet, the plane obviously has a slight delay in rotation and rolling manipulations. So w.e. other people say, 160 is dead on :)
@Randibrite09 are you another one of those wanna be pilots lol? Also if you like Jazz so much then go and watch Jazz video's no one cares if you think they rule. This is a westjet video not a jazz video. Might want to check your vision.
ACjazzRules.... Ummm no, Velocity speeds are different every time. dependant on aircraft weight, runway length and condition. Stick to the Dash 8s bud
@Randibrite09 Not sure if you know what your talking about, but the Dash 8s require a fair bit of calculating to figure out the T/O speeds, and a lot of it is done manually. Don't try saying only bad pilots fly Dash 8s or some other bullshit like that, because it couldn't be farther away from the truth. Jazz is a reputable company, and all their pilots are just as professional as any ACA or WJA one. Yeah; they fly smaller planes, but that might just be personal choice.
I've been here over 4 times already good for it's All-Inclusive Hotels and it's fine Turquoise Waters. I've been to Punta Cana on an American Eagle, Mexicana, Delta, and a Continental.
First decision speed. Velocity mark 1 at which point the pilots have to scan the instruments for possible problems and decide whether or not to continue on with take off or abort. Usually around 80 knots
nah v1 IS the decision speed. any failure or emergency before v1 you abort the takeoff any failure or emergency after v1 your taking the aircraft into the air. v1 is the speed where below and at you can stop in the ASDA (accelerate stop distance available) which varies on the weather conditions, runway length, aircraft weight etc and is not necessarily at 80kts usually in a jet it will be over 100kts. :D
Well, v1 is obviously a variable that is determined by examining a lot of different factors. 80 knots is just a generalization I made being that it is in the range of speed that most private pilots would associate decision speeds with. Obviously I'm going to dumb it down a little, its youtube lol. I suppose i really didn't word that in the best way possible. These 737s decision speeds are ussually around the 130 mark. Must have been a late night post by me =( lol
I thought V1 was last point where an aircraft could slow down enough before running off the end of the runway. You rotate at that speed or hit the breaks. I could be wrong, google it.

..Aren't all electronic devices supposed to be shut off during take off?
Not to mention this one piece being basically right up against the equipment on the flight deck?

If you READ the safety card not look at the pictures, it will tell what type of cameras are allowed and whats not.

A camera doesen't transmit a signal so there is no problem
speedbird6431 3 years ago
they only tell that to the passengers so they are not distracted if there is an emergency
