Fun Fact: Toph was originally going to be a muscular, teenage boy. But when the creators joked about making her a petite, 12 year-old girl, the idea grew on them and they ended up using that design instead. Making the actor playing Toph a big man was a reference to the fact that she was originally meant to look somewhat like him.
