  • i am currently a junior in highschool, our top jazz band is playing this. trumpets have to audition, so im surfing the web for good styles and things i can steal to put in it, this is awesome!

  • what's the concert?

  • my hero!

  • Man, I love the emotion. These men are forever alive through their recordings. I think I'm gonna née more sidewinder on my iPod :)

  • Soooooooo good. What a spectacular combination. Thank you for this bit of happiness.

  • Lee Morgan was the most expressive trumpet player i have ever heard, his tone and the way he bends notes ,real sassy like . plenty of soul.......love it......

  • Lee Morgan could have permanently altered the way we understand jazz if he had lived longer. I believe this clip was made when he was starting off with Art Blakey, his later blue Note efforts where he was front man would indicate a maturing artist at heart. Magnificent and underrated, if he lived long enough he may have overshadowed Miles Davis.

  • This song could be called "I remember Lee", he also died much too early. It's a pity guys like Lee Morgan, Clifford Brown or Booker Little died that early.

Let's dedicate this song to all of them!

  • @MrTrumpetalex1848 yes you were right. they have died early :'(

  • So so good

  • 2:02

  • ...2:15-2:23. Jesus wept.

  • My favorite Jazz trumpeter Lee Morgan,Clifford Brown would be smiling and crying to this emotional and lovely song dedicated to Mr.Brown. I will always remember Clifford, your art and spirit lives forever.

  • imagine me,a 39 year old death metal listener, who listenes to this regularly...love it,and almost always tear up..

  • this is so good...right?

  • The best trumpet player that has ever lived,Lee Morgan! baruch haShem <3

  • This youtube recording is the reason I discovered Clifford Brown. A technician who understod the sensitivity and sophistication defining the idiom of jazz as an organized form, so far ahead of his time. I'm a lifetime student of Bach and contrapuntal music. Just like Bist du bei Mir, with its simplicity, melodic line and the sensitive arrangement of time/execution; this is a perfectly subtle memorial to a musical brother. Brilliant, moving and profound. I miss Clifford without knowing him.

  • @mashimarocam And I miss Lee Morgan without ever knowing HIM!

  • @unclebobunclebob i totally agree Lee Morgan was def an underdog, alot people never really knew of him, but know come to appreciate his music, People like Lee, Clifford, and Freddie are the best and make you def cherish jazz and the story behind its greatness

  • so beautiful!!

  • the very best version of this song

  • The vuvuzelas ruin it.

  • amazing

  • Protip:

    listen in combination with rainymood[dot]com.

  • @incaa2 lol i was going to put that on here but my comp was acting funky tht day

  • thank you!

  • Beautiful, clear video, nice sound. This appears to be the Jazz messengers circa 1960, with Art Blakey (D), Lee Morgan (T), Bennie Golson (TS), Jymie Merrit (B), and Bobby Timmons (P). The tune is "I Remember Clifford", a very beautiful standard penned by Golson.

  • @bigdogheads Filmed in Belgium on November 30,1958.
