Just to feel alive, every second you're with a woman... yet reassured, she'll never leave.
Jean Anuiohl had a LOT to say, too. Please read his 1960's translation of Plays 1 + Plays 2.
The 1990's translations, weren't by poets... and any good writer, wants a poet. Something terrifying?
If you want to go deep, try the new translation (1989) of Kafka's "The Trial." THANK GOD FOR BALLYKISSANGEL, AND EVERYBODY INVOLVED.... "I STILL HATE MARGRET THATCHER!"
well people still approach her to this day because of her role as Assumpta. But you can only judge after watching.. ;) Personally i think she's quite a good actress and this was a great role for her..It's about a Assumpta (dervla) a pub owner in a rural town called ballykissangel in ireland and her feisty yet restrained relationship with father peter clifford (stephen tompkinson). the new priest in town from london.check it out if you have the time
this was great, thanks for posting. just finished watching s1-3 for the first time in 10 years. is it just me or is it this episode where peter realises he feels more for assumpta than just friendship?
No, those were my exact thoughts. That last moment when it pans back to Peter, then he leaves the play. It's written all over his face. He realizes he's fallen hard for Assumpta.
Thanks for this! There really was something about Assumpta Fitzgerald, wasn't there? She wasn't exactly a ragin beauty, but I guess she was the quintessential Irish lass. As Fr. Mac said, the country's full of Assumptas! Ain't it the truth, praise God!
Wow! This is awesome for a first attempt! I love how well the sinuous will they/won't they Peter and Assumpta moments go with the song. Brilliant ending ... keep making more videos.
Yey, another video maker - good job Marg! We must have been making them at the same time! And ditto to Amy - my favourite episode, and one of my favourite songs. I particularly liked how you put 'don't want to leave her' with the bit when he gets kicked out the play. Hope you had fun making it.
This was my first video ever, so it's kind of an experiment. The poor quality at the beginning is because I was trying to figure out how the DVD ripper software worked. I think it worked out pretty well overall, though! What do you think?
@NadyaVincent38
Yeah, it's really dumb that YouTube censors the music. :-(

At 1:30, why won't he kiss her?
I've never seen this series.
Was Dervla good in this series? Was she better in this role or her role in Goodnight sweetheart?
