  • There are many bank muscles near the shore where I live, this is good information =). I'm actually a little scared about using bloodworms for bait, I don't want them to bite me...

  • on 5 more sites...or summer will appear one dark quiet night when ur not ....e...xpecting it by ur bed with a knife and will kill u this is no joke. something goood will happen to u if u do post this to 5 sites

  • when ur reading this dont stop or something bad will happen!!(sorry about this) this girls name is summer shes 15 years old and has blonde hair, many scares, no nose or ears...she's dead if u dont copy this this just like the ring,...n paste

  • Do you have to have the chum pots?

  • How can I rig my line if am flounder fishing from a bridge?

  • Thanks for the info. Much appreciated .

  • i am going flounder fishing sunday wish me luck :)

  • What safe paint can you use for painting sinkers?

  • Thanks for the tips, excellent video as usual.

  • Gotti2069 this video is referring to winter flounder in the north eastern united states and Canada. The flounder in Florida such as gulf and southern flounder are most similar to the summer flounder or "fluke" here in the north east. For flounder in Florida you are better off with live lining shrimp, or small bait fish.

  • Great instructional video. Is it different for Florida flounder fishing?

  • I have nevvvvvveeer stayed in one spot to catch flounder I am always on the move following the drift and I can't limit almost every time I don't think that is a very good technique standing still because the flounder don't usually go to the bait that hide on the muddy bottom like you said until the bait swims by and then they attack it but they do go and get it and anyone can see that just by the shape of there body

  • I have a question. I have been flounder fishing for a while and always have trouble with pinfish and smaller fish taking my bait right off. If you have any suggestions reply please

  • @CrazyKidSmoker if the fish that are stealing your bait are suspended, use heavier weight sinkers to get through them and down to the bottom...

  • @northernpike56 The fish that take my bait are like paranas. The instant a piece of bait touches the water the baits gone. Even if it makes it to the bottom it wont stay long

  • @CrazyKidSmoker I have the same problem with harbour pollock when fishng winter flounder, but they usually leave the bait alone, once on botton.

  • nice vid and u use grub 4 saltwater

  • good info.

  • thanks captin al cought a 21" flounder and a 17" on those bank mussel's! sadly our bag limit is only 2! and probally lowering because the decrease in flounder over in texas : (

  • Well I've been working on a commercial charter boat on long island for 10 years now so I am 100% sure that I have a clue what I am talking about. Im trying to clear up the confusion some of these people seem to have.

  • MAC736

where did you get those facts? you clearly have NO clue what your talkin about.

  • summer flounder have their face on the left side, and have very large mouths with teeth. Winter flounder have their face on the right side, and have very small mouths, and do not have teeth. They are both predatory fish but only summer flounder eat other fish. Winter flounder eat all kinds of shell fish and worms, as explained by the video. Those are the correct facts, the confusion is the alternative name for summer flounder which is fluke.

  • WInter Flounder face towards the right and Summer Flounder( Fluke) face towards the right!??>!!

  • could you post vids on flounder pier and jetty fishing

  • Winter Flounder do not have teeth summer flounder do

  • can somebody PLEASE tell me the diference between a flounder and a fluke. everyone has been telling me different things and im so confused.

  • they're the same. It just depends on where and when you catch them.

  • Actually the flounder has the eyes on the roght and a Fluke has the eyes on the left.

  • 'fluke' is a common nickname for flounder...

  • both fish have 2 eyes. a summer flounder (also called a fluke) have teeth, winter flounder do not. a fluke looks more darker more muddier etc, while a winter flounder is more lighter, and they pretty much go for any flounder bait

  • @fishaddict5 no difference fluke is just what we call summer flounder here up in the northeast

  • the video's about winter flounder not fluke

  • iv herd of useing live snapper for fluke how exactly would you rig them hooks, hook placesment ect

  • hook the snapper either through the tail or through the back on a simple rig nothing special

  • could you cut the muscle in half and still use it for bait?

  • as long as it stays on the hook

  • can you fish from a pier

  • depending if the area produces flounder but yeah i've caught flounder off a pier

  • most definately...

  • Is flounder fishing the same in every country? ...I wonder if I can try these baits and techniques in the coasts of Chile.

  • do the summer flounder usually stay close to the shore or in deeper water

  • yo when i fish for these fish, i bounce the sinker on the bottom. however, i also want to use a lighter sinker. so what is the best weight to use so i can feel even the slightest tap yet puff up the bottom with the sinker?

  • well i use 2oz 3 ounce when the water is a bit faster

  • worms aren't the best minnows and squid are

  • yes, for summer flounder, he's talking about Winter flounder who are crazy for worms!

  • you should make a fluke video this year they are biting like crazy im averaging 20 inchers!!!

  • i think that this is a good video and that it shows alot on how to catch a flounder. when i go fishing i usually catch my flounder on squid that is soaked in shredder crab.

  • You should Try Minnows They Work Really Well

  • thanks i will try them

  • this is close to my house long island ny

  • i like to use finger mullet, bull minnose, and el wide

  • where im from the flounder like finger mullet or jumbo shrimp the best hands down.

  • find i nice spot on the shore like 3 feet -to 6 of water , used what kind of natural bait is around the area and diet of those fishes and go on high tide , if you know the spot for other times , better.

  • Sounds like he's saying pat instead of pot and battum instead of bottom hahahaha. good video though. never heard of of this guy. hope to see some more videos from him

  • nice!!

  • Capt,

    Great video.

  • Nice Job, Capt. Al !!!

Thanks for the rundown on Winter Flounders, I have fished for them for years and your tips are right on the money. Ignore that Chump's ignorant rant. I have a copy of your live bait for Stripers for over a dozen years and I am gonna pull it out and watch it again, it's Great !!!

  • Thanks for taking the time to do this Captain Al. Good Stuff. It is a shame that people have to pollute the comment section with B.S. Keep up the great work!

  • if bullshit were electricity your constant yakkin' could replace a fuckin' POWER PLANT !

  • How many times have you been on the cover of the Fisherman Magazine with a 50 plus Striped Bass? Lets see your videos on you tube?...Clearly if you are such a talented fisherman you would have video and photographs to document your catch..please post coward!!! not need to use such language and show some class you have

  • Hey Hotshot ! I was on the front cover of the Anglers news when I was 11 years old with over 100 lb. Tuna, when the Fisherman was some clammers " pipedream ". Why don't you just go down to your basement and melt some lead for sinkers and when its starts smokin' TAKE A GOOD WHIFF ! you'll catch a buzz ! how much did you pay for the stipper at White Cap when your were on the Front Page ? yak yak yak yak ! go tie some hooks, oh yeah green beads, flounders like them on St. Patties Day

  • You must have a bad case of cabin fever. Sorry that you were not pleased with the clip which is about catching winter flounder in the Northeast. Some other comments from rational people assumed it was about summer flounder or "Fluke" as we call them in the Northeast. Regional names for different fish can be confusing but the fish in question is Pleuronectes americanus. You bust be local knowing about White Cap Seafood. The last time I heard about strippers they were working at the Viking.

  • @joewoo127 ur an ignorant piece of shit! what'd he do to u

  • @joewoo127

You are a friggin idiot! Keep your moronic garbage to yourself you fucking mook!

  • judgin' by that " hair-do " you're sportin' seems like maybe you did a little too much acid or speed this mornin' your mouth runs faster than a friggin' propeller ! you'd scare away the friggin' seagulls, they wouldn't want to hear that flap yappin' either !

  • quite the contrary my dear freiend, fishing far from frustrates me. I've probably caught more than you've ever seen, regardless of the species. Tuna fishin' in the " acid waters " along with blues one after another, 60 lb. cod, pollack, tilefish that would even quiet a windbag like yourself up for maybe five minutes perhaps ( if at all possible ) I know one thing for certain " Capt. Al " ( thats a fuckin' joke ) stick a GAFF UP YOUR ASS ! and give it a good YANK !

  • better have your boots on with this bullshit artist yakkin' away. Who in their right mind would want to hear that trap flappin' when you're tryin' to hook a fish. No different than any bait shop owner SHIT MERCHANTS !, tel em' to blow the chum out his ass and mesh up his fuckin' mouth, to quiet it down. Throw him overboard SHIT FLOATS !

  • Sorry fishing frustrates you. Maybe you need some fishing tips from Captain Al then you may enjoy the sport.

  • the only " fish " that concerns you are the ones you can catch with all your bullshit ! your in it for the buck ! who are you kiddin'. put food anywhere and a hungry animal or fish will find it. Like you sellin' all that" magic " crap you peddle. Whos kiddin' who ?

  • live bait works great here in md like mullet and minnows and cut mullet squid and shrimp.

  • where is he talking about fishing out of in florida ive never heard of anybody chuming for flounder although as of right now it wouldent do anygood no matter what you do with the red tide and all

  • Thanks That brought back some great memories when I used to go out of East Moriches LI. Wonderful. Thanks again.

  • We use mud minnows and mullet in TX

  • If you dont want to use jig heads the ultimate bottom rig for flounder is simple...line,through 3/4 lead eggweight to a small gold swivel...add foot of same line from swivel to 1/0 kahle hook...there is no better rig..

  • Ok I dont want to bash the old guys tactics but all premade leaders are junk...and if you know where and how to fish you shouldnt need chum..ill wade with my pole and a pack of jig heads and load the cooler with flounder all day

  • i think you're talking about "summer flounder" he's talking about 'winter flounder' and for that you do need chum

  • nice, really loved the idea, great work :)
