Bonnhomme Richard LHD 6 yea I spent 13 months of my life on that boat! Operation Enduring Freedom! The Navy is the Taxi service for the Marines, while the squids spend their slimy days being beligerent, & scrubbing the bulk heads, & floors. Marines priorty is workingout, studing knowledge, eating, & making sure we get in our racks to take a nap, whenever the squids call out GQ............................­.General Quarters Bitches! 2000/2002

Wow! I was part of the first deployed Marines on this ship back in '99. 1st Battalion 5th Marines, to San Fransisco as part of Operation Urban Combat. Urban training excercise, that was a fun trip. I do remember when at one point a CH 53 taking off and caught fire and I beleive it had reporters on it, yikes! Thankfullyt everyone was OK, thanks for the vid brought back some memories!

The Doors Jim Morrison's father, Admiral George Stephen Morrison, Deputy Chief of US Naval Operations -- USS Bonhomme Richard was his ship; decommissioned in 1971
