we fought the fight to keep our home and sort of won. after the mortgage fight a tornado crushed half our home. the 5of us in a 29 foot camper your tips are helping. you have helped get us all eating better by teaching me basic things in the kitchen. I use a coffee bean grinder to grind rice n beans for Lynne's muffins.have to replace EVERYTHING we owned includingmy unsealed food storage due to moisture and mold. we hope to have it as good as you do by christmas.many blessings to you
@PurdyBear1 - Well that is GREAT! So many from other places than the US miss out on some of the 'tips' because we are just experiencing different things. It's good to hear that this is useful elsewhere too! I'm glad!
Hi, I can't believe I missed this video. I had moved also, perhaps that's why I missed it. "Living on Faith" Yes, I hear you ; ) You are a true blessing, thank you! xx
Sorry to hear you all have lost your house. So many people are in the same boat! We just lost ours too and moved with our 4 children into a small mobile home. Space is a challenge but God is good and has provided for all our needs, even space saving ideas :)
@4xthefun - Isn't it amazing what you sort from your 'needs' list when you really have to and find a lot were 'wants' not needs? God IS good!! His provision has NEVER failed us...even in what looks odd to others...we're growing and learning and sharing, by His design!
@clogart - Well we were skimping by from 2003 (company shut down) to 2009 without a stable company to work with....then when the last one did 'it's thing' we finally lost the house...can only stretch a dollar so far....I'd say 6 years of stretching is a great deal of learning time.
I know I'm in good company though. A lot of us out there now 'making it by' on very little.
@thewheatguy yes.. and i would HAVE to agree!! its funny.. people can live on next to nothing as soon as the dont have the tv telling them they have to get a whole bunch of things they dont need or really want..its truly sad that 99% of all things purchaced end up in the dump within 6 months of gettin them. its also sad that its done that way on purpose... and thats the part im having the most problems with!!!!!!!!!
@clogart - amazing isn't it! My grandfather (99 in a couple of days) says it's the biggest loss he's seen, perhaps worse than the great one....in percentages at least.
My mother taught me to think outside of the box, and that is why I love watching your videos =). When my family fell on hard times, my Mother would exchange her housekeeping services for other services. Not only are you saving money, but you don't have to pay taxes on sweat equity ;).
@mslyndseylou - That's a great thought! Thanks for sharing that! I'm not a great house KEEPER...but maybe I can barter some other things like....organizer, bread, classes, etc.... Oh you've got my wheels a-turnin'! Thanks!
@crunchygranolastudio - Thanks! I'm actually looking at it as kind of a new (or deeper into the jungle of no funds) adventure! So - it will turn out to be a good thing! Thanks for the kind words of encouragement!
@sbaker3232 - Although days I wanted to... it's a good thing to get back up and move forward in the face of adversity....gives us all more guts....so ya' gotta keep keepin' on....
I'm sorry to hear of all the troubles. The upside to this? You'll now get really, really good at maximizing space, something everyone needs! :) Also, cooking in a small kitchen is easier. One arm can stir the pot while the other gets something out of the fridge. :) For more storage space, why not get one of those freestanding bookshelves/closets and put it in the living room? If it has doors or nice fabric along the front, no one's the wiser!
@Nooni1233 - These are great tips and reminders of the blessings of small spaces! Also I have found I am more choosy about what I store and keep for re-use. I really want to know how to video-tape myself though without my son here and where would I put the camera that I wasn't right up in your face! (o: Thanks for the 'out of the box' ideas! (o:
I think you should start up a podcast with all your knowledge. I would love to be your editor and producer. It could turn into an income source to help you out. drop me a line if interested.
Just wanted to let you know you are not alone. We just moved from our house to an apartment. Man do we have a lot of stuff. Face it the economy isn't getting better no matter what the news try's to tell us. We're living it! Can't wait to see what ideas you have. Because trying to fit that basement pantry into the little kitchen is NOT working.
@cooksalot1 - "Man do we have a lot of stuff" - That made me smile. We said that line about a billion times when trying to move. Too much stuff. We gave away stuff just to have a cheaper moving truck!!! Yep! The tiny non-pantry space is quite the challenge. I've taken to using space in other closets and under our bed...more on that later... (o:
@thewheatguy Yeah someone suggested under the beds. Only what do I do with the 7 buckets of wheat!!! Perhaps some creative coffee tables? LOL! There is a funny side to all this I guess.
@cooksalot1 - I have a friend who has turned some into end tablese (a round wooden top and floor lenght table cloth). One turned several into a coffee table with the same basic manner (lower buckets, I thkn the 3.5gal size. My personal stash is through out the house in corners...standing 3-4 high (6.5 gal size) descretly behind shelves etc.
@thewheatguy Guess it's off the the glass place on Friday. End tables now that's an idea. I don't even have corners available to stack them in. Right now I have all my soap making supplies in the linen closet and coat closet. LOL!
Donna so glad you are back so happy to see you having a positive mental outlook on your new circumstances! You are in His hands and He will provide what you need! There are many of us struggling financially right now, but it is there you can see God's hand at work! Look forward to seeing your creativity grow and using the tips you bring to us! God bless you lady!
@freebygrace18 - This is so encouragine and timely! Thank you! I've been actually shocked that I am as 'ok' with it all as I am... I usually kinda whine a bit....but it's almost exciting - strange to say, but accurate.. Thanks for commenting and reaffirming we are in His Hands!
So sorry to hear about the work situation. Prayers are with you and your family. This is the reason why food storage is so important. I'mj in Southeast Louisiana and we experienced first Katrina, then the economic collapse, and now the oil spill. Without preparations, I don't know how my friends and neighbors will make it. Stores are closing daily. But we are blessed. I am growing my garden and enjoying life. You will too. All the best. Nikki
@nikki4612 - Oh tell me about it! With the 6 months of no income we did 'eat down' to a smaller pantry but spent next to nothing on food each week. So it was a blessing to be prepared...now we have to rebuild! (o: Thanks for the prayers and encouragement Nikki!
Prayers going out to you and yours. I added you on face book and reposted your video. I look forward to buying my grain from you when I get back to work myself, so hang in there :)
@wonderwendy1968 - Oh THANK YOU for reposting it - feel free to do so with any of my videos - if they can help friends of yours, please share! That is so sweet of you! Thank you for the prayers as well! Blessings!
I know you have been missed:) I am sorry to hear that your family is gong through these hard times, but happy to hear that your son is getting married.God is good, and things will pick up for you, prayers sent from this direction.
@blssdmmm1 - Thanks for the prayers. Yep God IS good all the time. I know this time will have some great fruit from it...so not to worry! My son will be married by the end of the month! We get an additional daughter! (o:
God bless you & your family!! Sorry to hear you are going through trying times. Thanks for sharing with us & thanks for being willing to continue sharing in your new circumstances!! Now I have to go check out those can organizers...I need those!
@imsailing2 Yeah they are pretty awesome for a good price. It actually opens more doors and challenges my creativity more - with $ saving and now space too!
@crazypeg2008 Thanks! It's not so bad really - just new opportunities to learn more (and share more)...BUT the oven is better and at first I didn't think there was a dishwasher! I was pretty happy to see one when we got here... (o:
@manicbuyer Thank you! It is not really bad at all - just different. Learning new ways to use space and the house takes like 15 minutes to clean it's so small! (o:
I am so sorry to hear that your husband lost his job and to hear about your money problems and that you lost your home. Thankfully God is helping you keep your spirits up and opening up a new window after closing the old door.
Thanks for the great space saving tips, i have got to get some of your can holder thingies. My husband finally got a job after being umemployed for ten months so I'll get him to get some.
@AnnieNM06 Ah.... you have been in the same boat then huh? This is actually a great thing in so many ways and I get to share things with others who may be facing similar space and income challenges so it's will work out for good!
Have you moved again? To the "bug out" location? or is this the same place you've been filming at lately?(The one with the spring house)

Thank the Lord your family is together and safe though!
Losing everything really puts priorities into perspective doesn't it.
Thank you for being so encouraging to me while you are going through such a life transformation yourself!
