@agentpissant42 I said the same thing, I knew it wasn't my ear. These guys are really good, I love their sound and their music. But I keep hearing ever so slight timing errors. I hate to sound too critical, it's just something that I notice when I listen to music. Furthermore, I think the drummer is exceptionally talented, but as this is their first album, I can hear some parts when he slows down and tries to catch back up. They just unsync at some parts, but overall, this band is dope as fuck

You're just imagining things. I bet you can't point out one mistake in the song. I mean they recorded this in a studio, they can do as many takes as they want, so why would they use a bad take?

@Kistarcsa I don't think it's anything like that, a bad take that is. I think most rock musicians are trained to play with a drummer as the metronome and can adjust timing if the 4/4 changes tempo slightly. I really believe they don't even realize when they do this. They just follow the drums faithfully which is generally a good idea but listen to the drums closely, the timing isn't exact. Who knows, maybe this was the best drum take or even the best live take of the entire band.

It might be just the bad compression that makes the drums sound late. I listened to those 2 parts 10 times and I still think they're on time.

As to the lead guitar, it's because of the slides he does before each note, it's intentional.

@Kistarcsa I was being sarcastic dude, I'm an audio engineer, and these drums don't sound compressed... they don't sound like they have any processing on them, other than a huge amount of reverb haha. but the reason the drummer sounds off time in parts is because they may have not played to a click track, and the drums are for sure not quantized at all.
