  • I suggest the people of Mozambique plant trees along the riverbanks. This may help to control the flooding.

  • I saw the footage of the swollen river in this video and noticed that there didn't seem to be a single tree in sight. Trees should be planted along the riverbanks because they absorb a lot of water through their roots. Then when the rains come, either there will be no more flooding or flooding will be minimal.

    The best trees to plant are those that grow (or used to grow) naturally in the area. They will be the hardiest.
