  • does anybody know the name of the second song???

  • 6 people dont like

    6people are idiots

  • Genial.

  • i dont understand why they are comparing her to mozart....

    THERE IS NO COMPARISON

    SHE IS BETTER THAN MOZART

  • She's so amazing !!!!!!

  • what was the second jazz piece? :)

  • @TheLovesongs123 "Don't Get Around Much Anymore"

  • Sounds a lot like Django Reinhardt - I'll See You In My Dreams

  • Seems the guy back to was expecting " this kid " to plang out a couple songs but got a lesson himself!

His reaction is like he is watching a mouse chase a cat around.

Her Natual ability flows like a fire hose..

  • One she is taught how to improvise on the fly, throw down some tri-tone subs with some bass line work, watch out McCoy Tyner

  • Once she is taught how to improvise on the fly through down some tri tone subs with some bass work..watch out mycoy tyner

  • @MerelWithChoclate not really.. since she's been playing for so long her hands are used to it, her muscles strong. that's like saying a singer who sings alot will have a deformed mouth.

  • This girl is amazing me more and more. She's a natural at jazz.

  • WHY won't they let her improvise over this stuff? She freaking composes already, let her start developing her soloing chops!

  • @dannyinternetz she has composed over 350 original songs

  • Seriously how often do you think this kid gets fresh air? Lol

  • jees, she's under 10 and she's on wikipedia! Amazing! hurray!!

  • This is ridiculous at 7 or even 13. With that being said, I would have loved to hear her play it with a little more bounce in the time.

  • thats amazing!!!

  • Why has Emily Bear disappeared? Anyone know?

  • daaannng.

makes me look like $h!t. seriously this girl has got some TALENT. i've been playing for 9 years, just joined a jazz band and dang she could totally beat me at next year's auditions LOL

  • knowing she exist give me hope for humanity.

  • No one plays with more soul than someone who loves what she is playing. Zeus bless Emily Bear.

  • what is the second song?

  • Don't Get Around Much Anymore (Ellington)

  • absolutely gobsmacked!! Emily you really have a gift! The world is so lucky to see, hear and experience it with you :) Its so awsum that you play such a mix and from composers beyond your youth!! Stunning babe x

  • She should be in New Orleans !!!

  • I'm amazed she can play the chords with such little hands! She's an amazing talent!

  • what is the 1st song that she played?

  • Take the A Train

  • Take the A-train

  • I think shes wonderful without singing

  • Now, imagine this everyone, she grows up and has a singing voice that's equally amazing.

  • Why??? That's like saying "imagine only if Mozart could SING." She's said numerous times that she wants to be a composer.

  • @mrparke007

Very true. I'm certain she'll be a great success as a composer. However, if she can sing well too, that can't be a bad thing. I'm not saying she'll be only a partial success in life if she doesn't have a great voice. Plus, I don't want to add any pressure on her. It just occured to me she'd own the world if she ends up w/ both skills. She seems to be a lovely child & I know we all wish her the best, whatever she ends up doing.

I wish all the best to you too, Mr. Parker.

  • Frankly, the only way that a voice could match the superb talent she has as a pianist and budding composer (she's already composed over 300 pieces) would be if she were to be trained in the operatic style. I think that would be a COMPLETE waste of her time. She's already exhibited true virtuosity as a classical pianist and is growing by leaps and bounds in her jazz expression.

  • That combination would be a truly landmark combo, she alredy has Mozart composition chops, or better, for her age, add to that a highly probable great voice, you have the next master... Sweet little Emily Bear is the next master, it takes a lifetime for pianists to get where she is already at... Go Emily!!!

  • I love her musical flourishes. Truly this girl is a natural musical genius.

  • Duke Ellington would be proud--he'd probably try to hire her!

  • I agree!!!

  • i really love her composition 'northern lights'. It's so beautiful and I think she is amazing!!! So if you haven't listened to that one do it now!

  • shes really awesome

  • Is that Darren Criss on the right?

  • Yep

  • Emily, you are so spectacular. Great pianist/composer and so young. I love you. Way to go Emily!!!

  • I have had the pleasure of viewing many of Emily's fine videos and I must say she is truly amazing.

  • i like Don't Get Around Much Anymore at 1:00 better

  • me too man!

  • i dunno. she composes her own pieces in like 5 minutes and im pretty sure shes won a young composers award or something like that. seems like a genius to me.

  • Wow... when I found out about her on the internet, I was so amazed, she is incredibly talented.

  • the way she plays has a lotta SOUL. i can't believe it's a child with eyes closed.

  • She is so talented and amazing... it's good that she is getting training from the best of the best to bloom her talent :)

  • i think they can be jelous and inspired at the same time i sure as hell am

  • can one be inspired and jealous at the same time!? wow!!

  • yes

  • wow, she is so amazing and special.

  • She plays the subtleties of jazz so well!

  • She really inspires me at 53!

  • This is what the world needs. Real new talent!! Hope she gets into Jazz!!

  • I hope she puts out a jazz CD!

  • Don't see how she hits so many notes with small hands - but she does, and beautifully! I love her music! It has a lot of heart, and what a heart!

  • Ima say this again and again I love emily soooo much!!!! one of the best pianist in the world.

  • when this little girl 20 years old, she's skills = chick corea , keith jarrett, michel petrucciani, or oscar peterson. Respect

  • she will be much better skilled and will thank them for all their influences.......

  • @djmikenewman With all respect, how can you know that?

  • @djmikenewman 5 people need to get fucking life and leave Emily Bear alone to do her thing!!!!!! You rock emmy.

  • cool:) she's better than i'll ever be

  • One word: Brilliant. For her to be able to understand jazz and the style of the music at such a young age is truly amazing.

  • I could do that if i wanted to... i just don't want to...

thats a fucking lie, this child is insane

  • She's got SWING! AT SEVEN! :P LOLLL

  • she gots SKILLZ!

  • She is amazing.

  • woooooooooooooooooooooooow

  • Fantastic! Listening to this beautiful 7 year old play "Don't Get Around Much Anymore" is uniquely refreshing :) I see many more Saturday night dances in your future, Miss Bear!

  • AH! I love her!

    Inspiration over the top!

  • Its one thing for a child to be able to replicate a classical piece note for note, but she is playing complex Jazz pieces that require a certain degree of intuition and the ability to express ones self. Very Impressive!

  • feedback that makes sense !

  • @BizzMarki Are you useless? - Any kind of music could be learned note by note when you are a child with mean parrents. Jazz is only as much an expression of ones self as classical music i'm afraid.

  • she makes most professionals envy!

  • she is the most amazing 7 year old pianist i have seen.

  • She is just Amazing i wish her the best of luck with piano playing. She is going to be one of the best piano players in the world. Just keep up the good work.

  • i think she is all ready like the best! she is insane! she gots SKILLZ!

  • simply wow!

  • Oh god i'm so jealous. She is amazing!

  • I enjoy her music. Beautifully played.

  • i´d love to see her in a duet with michel petrucciani, they would even be they same height! :D

    so sad he died!!

  • it will be my greatest upsets if she hurts her hand and can't play piano anymore...i must listen her playing every minute!!!

  • the six yr old just made such complicated song look easy... boy it's out of this world!!!

  • I wish'' I had that kind of talent cause old girl haves skills!!! Indeed that is a gift from god. But I guess each of us have our own talent that was given by god.

  • I just love her !

I saw enough very talented kids play sonatas but this girl is different.

    She has something more !

  • I like how she holds her hand up when these radio guys are clapping like "I'm not done yet.".

  • This girl is a gift from the Heaven! it looks like God is trying to tell us something: a better World is possible, just give Music to the children! and lots of Love too! People, take care of her!

  • i'm not debating what he's saying or not but that was random. ;P

  • Does anyone know what the 2nd song she plays is? Is it still "Take the 'A' Train?"

  • Don't Get Around Much Anymore

When I'm not playing solitaire, I take a book down from the shelf,

and what with program on the air, I keep pretty much to myself.

Missed the Saturday dance, heard they crowded the floor, couldn't

bear it without you, don't get around much anymore. Thought I'd

visit the club, got as far as the door, they'd have asked me about

you, don't get around much anymore....

  • Thanks!

  • @jzjcjzjc

'Don't Get around Much Anymore' Definitely.

  • Loving the pedal extensions :D This girl has incredible talent.

  • i think the pedal extendars are adorable!!!!

  • Simply phenomenal! That in the same month this was recorded on NPR, she won ASCAP Award with an original composition "Norhtern Lights", was on the Ellen Show and numerous other shows w/o missing a single beat!

Her composure and ready smile under these diverse pressures and conditions is what I find so phenomenal for her age, let alone the amazing talent!

She's just so right at home on the bench in front of the pearly white keys of a Grand! :D

  • I'm falling in love with this girl <3

  • I think Duke Ellington would have loved the way you play his music, why? you play from your heart

  • wow her timing and rhythm are impeccable. I love how she likes to play jazz =D

  • I can't wait to see what she becomes. :)

  • aaaaAAAAAAAAAAAWESMOE!

  • Hammer die kleine :)

  • I absolutely think that her family is using wonderful amounts of common sense, by balancing her music and her childhood. It's not easy to raise a super talented child. How fortunuate that Emily has such a good start on a happy life. Love U Emily

  • As a parent it would be hard for me to tell her that school mattered.

She could never worry about learning again. This tallent will make her very sucesfull and carry her threw life.

Kinda so hard and trival to tell her anything else matters.

  • Learning is essential for the development of your brain, not only to make money.

  • I've just seeing some videos of her...

but I still can't believe in what I'm watching...

    She is just perfect!

  • Wow! The timing and dynamics of this kind of jazz are really quite sophisticated. It's quite possible to play all the right notes but still not 'get it'. I think she gets it!

  • Yeah, absolutely. As a performer and musical talent myself, it's "easy", respectively, to put a bunch of notes in order. But to actually get the timing, especially in jazz, with the on and off beat rhythms in just the right places... Amazing!!

It's like the music is actually coming straight from the soul, and not just her head.

  • o my gosh......emily bear is so talented. . . XD

  • the pedal extensions are too cute

  • except that she is 7

  • Was this a recording for her CD?

  • She is lucky to have family and friends that can nurture her talent. I hope it's always balanced with perspective.

  • YEAAAAHHHH!!!! Emily Bear RULEZ!!!!

  • I want to be just like her, but shes 7...thats hard to get to for me xD

  • After watching a dozen other vids of her playing, and then this one ... MAN I hope jazz will be an integral part of her future career. You're going to need a truckload of confidence to do a jazz chase with her in just a few years. I'm flabbergasted.

  • I think shes everyone's idol.

  • Wow,that waz totaly awsome....and i love jazz so now she's MY new idol

  • i have a new idol. no seriously. i <3 emily.

  • She is amazing as always)
