People always hate on this movies, but it's a vital bridge to "Rocky Balboa". I always hated "Rocky V" before "Rocky Balboa" came out, because I felt it wasn't a fitting conclusion. Now that we have "Rocky Balboa", it's not that bad of a movie and it's very important to the overall story arc.

Rocky V is so damn BORING!!! Seriously, nothing happens in it. They just dragged on with Rocky ignoring his family, stuck up with training Tommy, and treating him like family instead of his own family. However, the only good part was the last half-hour when they did that street fight. That's when things really got heated up, and I enjoyed that part only.

I understand why this film was so lackluster (Stallone says he disliked it because he made it out of greed), but I think it fits nicely into the canon, even with Rocky Balboa. Bottom line, it's not the best, but it's a Rocky movie, and that's enough to make it good.

I agree that "Rocky 5" is better than its reputation, and my least favorite Rocky movie is actually part 4 (I LOVE all the other ones, 4 and 5 excepted). And I actually liked the fact that Rocky fights Tommy in the street rather than in the ring so that no money is involved [and therefore, George Washington Duke doesn't get what he really wants ($) regardless] . Never got all the hate on this movie. I agree it's the least best of em, but still good. Only thing missin from this movie was an ending where Rocky wins a lawsuit against the accountant and gets his family's fortune back. Other than that, the movie works.

Thanks - great review and trip down memory lane. I enjoyed the film - though thought it an absurd flick to round off the series. It is probably better forgotten about. I would say that rocky 1 to 4 all have a good point for rocky to prove - but really Rocky has nothing to prove in Rocky 5 and that is its weakness. We all know he is a legend and the champ is a chump - Rocky's street victory was not needed to prove that.

You are out on the street and the attacker want to take your life is something serious is not bullshit.
