Actually I don't think this makes out Poe to be an action here. This more reminds me of Johnny Depp's portrayal of Ichabod Crane in Sleepy Hollow. A man out of his depth, haunted by his past who suddenly finds himself thrust into this life and death situation. Poe though will be both feel guilty because he'll feel his stories gave the killer all his ideas, and also determined more than anyone to stop the killer and get redemption

In it, EAP does indeed become an action hero trying to solve the mystery a family who disappeared all of whom belong to a little boy. The boy, named Edmund, helps him solve the mystery. It was actually pretty good. It combined fact, fiction as well as several of his works. So again, I ask, why not?
