  • cowgirlsam if i buy an extra tip for the blizzard from spintastics does the tip come with the bearing

  • Yes, it comes with the bearing :)

  • I love playing with trompos but i use the old types with just a nail to spin on.

  • cowgirlsam do u say that beyblade are only half as good and should i get back into playing trompo

  • I think beyblade's are fun...I have a number of them. Spin-tops require a different kind of skill and are addictive in a different way. They're great b/c you can play alone or with/against others. Keep the beyblades but YES, do get back into playing trompo!

  • I could beat you at battling here in Mexico its a really competative sport and plus its tradition so we have to basicaly buy a new top every day beacuse we brake them in battles...i wish i could show you my skillz >:D and there actually called trompos and the game is called kancos.

  • cowgirlsam im going to internet and try to find imperiel ducan spintop tip does clear tip please answer because i cant find any website to get the tip I was trying spintastic

  • How much do barring tops usually cost?

  • Basic plastic bearing top sell for @ $11.00 -$15.00.

The fancy aluminum ones can cost up to $ 100.00

  • what!!! they cost 10 pesos here in Mexico witch would be like 87 cents and there really resistant..man what a ripoff..and umm you have a really nice collection :D

  • cowgirlsam is this true the lighter the spintop is easier to do a boomarg.

    yes or no

  • A lighter top takes less force to pull back to the hand but won't be easier to keep spinning in the hand unless it's well balanced and thrown with enough speed and lands straight up. Generally hollow tops have longer spin times than solid tops and are better for doing tricks. Hope this answered your question.

  • cow girl sam im a big fan about your channel. i could do boomarg, big scoop, and the sky rocket is that enough to be spintop player. yes or no

  • Absolutely! The average person doesn't know what a spin-top is, let alone wind or throw one. Once you can do Boomerang it just keeps getting more and more fun! Thanks for being a fan.

  • will any other bearing tip fit the blizzard

  • No, not that I'm aware of. Spintastics bearings are press fitted on to the shaft of the tips...even if you were able to take the bearing off, you would have a very difficult time fitting a new one on the shaft. Also, I don't believe that they are the same diameter as any other bearing tips.

  • oh i just found this lol but yea id like to learn more. you should put how to make the bearing spin better video plz, thnx

  • One day I'll get to that video, but in the meantime, search how clean a yo-yo bearing. You can do it in the same manner, but you clean the bearing on the tip shaft. I usually use bicycle( citrus degreaser )rather than paint thinner because it's less toxic and it's water soluble. I then use canned air to blow the bearing dry.

  • Great spinning top video and informative too. I enjoyed it very much & also hope to build a collection some day though they are hard to find. Thanks for the informative video

  • cowgirlsam could you make a video of, how to be a spintop player and could you do a wire walk on a wooden spintop . yes or no

  • Sure, I can do a wirewalker with a wooden top. Some tips are easier to work with than others but it can still be done with the nail type or rivet tip. I have been thinking about having my kids at the school help me teach a series of How to spin-top videos. As soon as I get a chance I'll get started on that.

  • cow girl sam will a duncan bearing tip fit a blizzard top

  • Unfortunately the Duncan bearing is larger that the Spintastics "Blizzard" bearing and the shafts are also different diameters, so w/out some sort of modification, they are not interchangeable.

  • you sound like elen

  • Thanks?

  • What happens if you want to buy 1 but you live in Gibraltar or Spain which it doesn't have those to countries????

  • hey i live in gib and i know where to get em! ill tell you i have three! ok in spain when you cross the frontier, there is that lane its new. go down it and at the end there is like a sweet shop.go in they usually have trompo they have big ones aswell! but not as big as hers! hope i helped

  • But the american trompos

  • what do you mean? the ones shehas?

  • yeah the ones in the picture

  • im looking at the quicksilver bearing and im wondering does it spin better after cleaning it and is it a very good top?

  • Yes, the QS's are very high quality tops. In the past they have always spun better after cleaning, but Dale Oliver (of Spintastics) recently told me that QS's and the Trompo Bearings now come w/cleaned bearings. The QS's have been selling very well so you had better get one "Quick" ;)

  • Hi Cowgirl. Just getting back into to tops after a *long* time and I wondered if it's worth trying to hunt down a bearing king since the Blizzard is readily available. Also, the Rip-cord looks like the Bearing King, but in different colors. Is it possible to convert a Rip-cord to Bearing King?

  • You will have to hunt to find a BK but Duncan has promised to make more, but I have no idea when those will be available. You can convert a Ripcord (RC) to a BK using a conversion kit or what is known as a "Duncan Top bearing tip kit". Look for one at yoyoguy online. Usually a BK has two bearings, one attached to the tip and one seated inside the top.

  • A converted RC will not have the inner bearing unless you are somehow able to press one in the top and are still able to get the tip with second bearing inserted. Not impossible but certainly a challenge. Good luck to you and please join us on the spin-top forum at itopspin (.com). We would love to have you...we don't bite ;)

  • I don't know enough about plastic spintops and their bearings to tackle any project that isn't a simple "plug in". So I'll wait and see what Duncan does. Does Duncan have a web site? I have already joined the itopspin forum. Thanks. I look forward to reading your posts there. :-)

  • If anyone needs to know, a standard duncan size "a" bearing will fit in, but I use ripcords without the second bearing. It will be a tight fit.

Great vid btw. I love your collection, especially the Alan Grays

  • Thanks for all of the info Cowgirl. Since Duncan says that they're going to do another run I'll probably just wait for a while and see what happens. My guess is that I can probably buy an SQ for what I'd have to pay for a BK now.

  • Why do I think I've confused bearing with fixed tips? Bearing tips have ball bearings that cause the tips to spin separately from the top body and fixed tips do not spin unless they are spinning with the rest of the top.

  • I thought you correctly explained the difference between the two tips more than once. Thanks for the info!

  • Very nice intro, thanks.

I would also like to see a bearing cleaning vid..

Just saw Alan and his son Alex at Flatland Juggling Fest last weekend...and Jon Gates stopped by just in time for our Renegade show.

  • wow

    AMAZING

i went to south america for two years when i was a kid and NEVER understood how to spin tops

    everyones so GOOD there.

    your collection is BEAUTIFUL

i STILL cant spin tops and after finding two tops that i brought as souvenirs; I can't wait to learn!!

    -hero

  • Hello, I used to spin wooden tops with my 2 brothers around 1963 or so... They were great! I wish I could remember who made them? You would hold them in your hand and throw them!... Great Video..Thanks!...

  • Hey Hey Hey, Do you have any beyblades?

  • lolz dude bayblades are old as hell

  • No they're not. Search Metal Fight Beyblade. And if they were as old as hell they'd be 2009 years old. Stop talking in your Skater Boy language.

  • great work thanx for the document!!

    cheers from france

    jim

  • Thanks for sharing your great knowledge. Can you put together a top bearing cleaning vid.
