@chevypower406 aug '07 i was on my '07 crbrr, i came up on an intersection i was turning right at, looked to my left for traffic, looked up and there was a full size chevys grill doin 40 in a 25 down the middle of the road. then there were all kinds of plastic and metal noises, it got real quite real quick and i realized right away im under this dudes truck and i cant get up, after about 35 the tow truck arrived to lift the chevy off me and what was left of my bike, thats all i remember for 2wks
@chevypower406 they put me in one because the morphine wasnt doing anything for the pain, i just remember screaming 'make it stop' over and over then the next thing i know its 2 weeks later, i have a wicked beard and im 50lbs lighter, basically my t-10 vertebrae exploded, i have whats called a cage in place of it, its a titanium cylinder they packed with bone fragments. along with that ive got 19 screws and 5 rods holding me together, they call it a double fusion.
but anyways i just wanted to say thank you for having to courage and faith to get on and do this stuff and show us newbees how to do things cuz sometimes th OT'S AND PT'S aka therapists dont always get down to the exact point n well them being not paralyzed its a lot easire
@krysstarr2010 I agree. The OT's and PT's have no clue sometimes. It's annoying. I don't even bother with them anymore because I learn better by practice. I have overcame so much by myself and changed a shitload of transfer methods they tried to teach me. Whysohigh has them all down correctly though. Thanks man. Coming from a 3rd year T4!
i find your videos very helpful and yet looks soooo easy
ima t5/t6 incomplete female and its very hard and very scary
i saw ur videos and i havent gotten my floor or couch transfers down yet i kind just throw myself over and do the reverse floor transfer backwards dont ask its confusing
Like what kind of healthy solid foods? Cause i eat everything u don't! But I don't drink or smoke or drink soda. But drink alot of water an cranberry juice an once in awhile lemonaide.
@Deepin210 well my breakfast is usually eggs and toast (no bacon, ever). i change it up sometimes with french toast or pancakes, hashbrowns. regular breakfast suff. for my lunches i usually do sandwiches or hamburgers. turkey or pb&j. i have a george foreman grill i make a few burgers a day with, very healthy to get all that grease and fat out of there. dinner i make a main meal, steak, spaghetti, mac&cheese, chicken occasional pizza with vegies and a side usually mashed potatoes.
@whysohigh also i snack on lots of fruit and whey protien like i mentioned earlier, you have to balance your body, too much protien will plug you up, too much fruit will losen you up too much, so you have to pay attention to what your eating, once you get a good eating routine down its a lot easier and you dont even think about it
@Deepin210 i do eat very healthy, i dont drink or smoke i stay away from pop (soda depending on where you live), fast food, candy and junk food. i have a fast metabolism so gaining weight for me has been a struggle my whole life, i regularly drink whey protien shakes and eat about 5 solid meals a day. im very active so i need the energy to burn. another secret to good health not many ppl know is good sleep and good dental hygiene.
@Deepin210 your body needs rest as much as it needs exercise, i dont care how cool you look telling your friends you can get by with only 3 hrs of sleep, no sleep means bad health, same with your teeth. theres a lot goin on in your mouth and if your body is trying to fight off something nasty cuz you wont brush your teeth, bad things can happen to your health.
@Deepin210 i go to the gym everyday except sunday and bust my ass, ive always been a hard worker. i dont have my lower abs or back muscles or what most ppl call your trunk support muscles, i have control of my top abdominal muscles just under my pecs, thats it. i know i might make it look easy but trust me its not.
cool man ..yo I'm also t-10 comp. ..you got any ideas on where is good for me to get some pants designed for us man.....whenever I push up in my chair my legs look like table legs showin thru these pants..lol I'm always concious about it when I go somewhere..
