I had the pleasure of meeting Michael Watford in San Francisco when he was out promoting his CD !!! I found him to be extremely humble and gracious !!! He autographed my CD (which I still have to this day !!!) Great talent !!!

I would compare Michael Watford with Martha Wash. Both are highly underrated yet so instrumental and influencial to house/ the modern dance era. He is a thunderstorm of raw male vocal power. Hair-risingly good!

Of course, to your highly refined sensibilities, 5,200 miles away from peasants like us, you're absolutely right. You never saw 700 people SCREAM when he did "Holding On" at the Shelter. More unintentional self-parody from the masters of discernment.
