kook & gxt have it right. Given what Brian gave us, he doesn't owe a damn thing. He could have coasted, stayed in his room, whatever. Instead, he put together a fabulous band, finished Smile, tours, and even puts out new music. We saw him in a small theater near Philly last fall and it was a fabulous show. Doing that despite the obvious impairments is even more proof of his genius.

"Wannabe-Musicians"? They are great, and very real. Not wannabe at all. Brian chose them and has played with them for many years now.

Though it's obvious that he isn't comfortable with this situation...but he was never comfortable on stage. That's why he also quit touring with the Beach Boys back in the 60s..and a NAMM performance is probably not where he feels he is at his best.

Brian is a legend and knowing his mental issues it's strong of him to come back and try.

It was a small venue and I watched all the people working with Brian tell him how good he did. They are just using his presence to earn money off him. I don't understand why Brian Wilson doesnt spend his time producing and writing for other talented musicians. He also needs to do some drug awareness gigs. Hey I think Brian made some of the best music in the world but live venues are over my friend.

I went to see Brian Wilson last night in San Diego at the House of Blues. I grew up on the beach boys while I was raised in so cal and surfing all my life. I hope Brian hears about this post because he needs to call it a life and stop touring. The show was a scam. He did nearly nothing and when he did sing it was painfull to watch. I love Brians music with a passion but this touring thing is nothing but a freak show. _NEXT_

I watched this video a couple of times now, and to be honest, the sound is horrible. I can imagine Brian was a kind of pissed of it... The band played too loud (may be the room had to do something with it) Brian is deaf on one hear, which is a serious handicap with too much noise around you. His mental state of mind really got nothing to do with this. A bit surprised that Jeff F. wasn't a bit more respectfull and caring.....

I have not followed the Beach boys, not into this genre of music. This one only times I have seen him on Youtube. I'm sure is he is great musical genius.
