My boyfriend reminds me of Ryan Gosling so much which is why I decided to watch this movie and I'm so glad I did. Goslings character is funny and the couple seemed so real. It is not your everyday movie type fairytale romance (it's very realistic), watch it with your significant other, you may learn something about each other...

@Bnrobee Same, it was so real. My boyfriend and I watched it together, and there were parts of both characters that reminded us so much of ourselves and each other. We'd been together for 4 years, and it helped us (who are already extremely close) learn a lot about each other. Really awesome.

Ryan should have been nominated (and won) an award for this movie. He was the only 'real' actor, the rest were blah...especially Michelle Williams, could be be any more like chaulk in her performance...dry and unanimated.

The scene that killed me was when Ryan's cahracter is pleading with her to not give up on the marriage. He says something to the effect of "we said for better or worse. Well here I am at my worst."

Outstanding performances by Gosling and Williams - two of the best of the year.

I love them both. They're both gorgeous and both incredible actors. I think they both seem very, very down to earth and they would make the most adorable couple. I also look up to Michelle for raising a beautiful daughter and being so strong during Heath's death. Truly inspirational.

I read an article too that said the scene on the bridge was all improv. Ryan said he thought he took it a little far, climbing up and over, but he thought it would make Michelle tell him why she was upset. I heard a lot of the movie was improv and just them acting naturally off one another...

I think Ryan and Michelle would make a great real-life couple. Imagine Ryan raising Heath's little girl.
