I think this will be amazing - the problem with ALL the modern search engines is that they don't necessarily give you the sites you want - rather they give you sites which have been contrived to appear in the results irrespective of how pertinent the results actually are - hence the fact that you end up going to directory listings rather than the actual content you sought...

comparing this to google search is just not right, although google had something similar to this, it had no decent and rich graphical interface and its database was very simple and it only had VERY limited set of information which was far from being useful.

I mean somebody could develop in the very near future computer programs that use voice recognition to construct phrases and questions from the users and then show in a fraction of a second all the things they can about the question the user has asked and even read them loud to the user, ask him if he wants to see the graphics for whatever and so on! I think this will be amazing - the problem with ALL the modern search engines is that they don't necessarily give you the sites you want - rather they give you sites which have been contrived to appear in the results irrespective of how pertinent the results actually are - hence the fact that you end up going to directory listings rather than the actual content you sought...

I wouldn't take anything at face value, especially if lives, belief systems and essential knowledge is concerned. Would always do at least 3 separate checks from 3 mutually exclusives sources, as good as this all looks.

no problem mate, my concern about technology is that it always seems to be getting more and more controlled, and less free. Google has freeier Data, .... Whilst we dont know whole will be Curating the data at Wolfram.
Becuase they say that they'll be hiring 1000 people to curate it, in other words control and add the data.

comparing this to google search is just not right, although google had something similar to this, it had no decent and rich graphical interface and its database was very simple and it only had VERY limited set of information which was far from being useful.

That's epic! I mean somebody could develop in the very near future computer programs that use voice recognition to construct phrases and questions from the users and then show in a fraction of a second all the things they can about the question the user has asked and even read them loud to the user, ask him if he wants to see the graphics for whatever and so on! THAT IS EPIC, but I hope it won't beat Wikipedia...

It's not competition for google. From what I've seen it looks like a statistical number cruncher. Looks like a lot of high level maths with real data already entered into it for you.
Will have to wait and see what exactly it can and can't do. I don't think it searches web-pages though.

IBM announced Watson, a natural language answer engine.What would be interesting is the combination of Google, WlframAlpha and Watson and wikipedia.Their integration would enable the user to research and compute most answers.If you add to that Dragon naturally speaking ( voice recognition system), you could do all your research with voice.Startreck era has hit us , integration is the key.

With each update I get from the Wolfman team the more i am ready to dump google, who knows with luck they will pull out of Y/Tube to concentrate on trying to play catch up with wolfman, and we get back to user driven content on Y/T.
