  • hey i just got the maschine..but when i hit the pads its like a delay do u know y?

  • My dude is real with them tv trays! Just like me...great tip on the vocals...hey it has an arpeggio?

  • im trying to get maschine to recognize my mic but it's not at all?i went to internal and external on sampling pg. need help

  • Better close the window so they don't call the cops hahahaha. Great vid. Real good

  • Great tutorial! Many respects :)

  • Great great tutorial bro that shit is hott!!

  • What is the name of the tune you sampled?

  • im tryna cop one of these, would it work on a hp touchsmart 600pc or only on mac?

  • Thanks for sharing and showing more than the clerk at guitar center was willing to. I'm going on ebay to find me one! I wasn't buying the price he was trying to sell me.

  • So im not the only one, troubeling the Neighbors haha. Nice vid.

  • Impressive vid. I am really tempted to get one of these. When you drop out the vox (at 9:36), what's that bass/horn sound? Did you play it on the keyboard or is it from the Maschine library or another sample?

  • knock...please help me out! I am trying to figure out how you get maschine to "hear" your microphone. I would love to not use a DAW, just Maschine and the software if possible - currently i am running maschine through my computer and using an m-box fastrack audio interface. I thought i had to record mics and guitar via the audio interface...is this not the case? how on earth did you record vocals directly into maschine - this would be a HUGE help - if anyone else knows please share as well!!

  • How u hook up the microphone and speakers up to the native maschine???

  • What are you sampling in this video?

  • Neighbour: "Damn they're fighting and screaming Hey! and shit." LMAO.. K2d man.. you do the best tutorials on Maschine. Thanks! You get that money man!

  • I GOT GHETTO TUTORED!! Did the neighbors call the police in the end??

I love how you used the note repeats, man, awesome stuff...

one question, if you have to make a whole track in maschine software, do you make many scenes, or do you prefer making a long ass scene where necessary for each group? thx

  • HOW I CAN RECORD VOCALS STEP BY STEP BE REALLY APPRECIATED

  • @billybadasswilliam take a mic and sing

  • Hey man, nice sampling. Thanks for making a clean, concise video. I've just gone through 10 videos from dropkicks who should be producing OR making videos.

PS: I'm really digging that beat (you should clean it up and record some serious vox on that).

  • what kind of kit is that you were playing? THat had triple kicks, did you just set that on threes with a filter delay?

  • na man dat shyt wuz hot

  • knock i love the vids man you and a couple others videos have made my mind up on getting the maschine cant wait to get it and to follow your tuts when its in my hands like i said i love the vids and keep up the good work also what akai keyboard is that is it the mpk49?

  • yo how do you get the tempo of the

    chops

  • tight ass beats. what's your opinion on the akai mpd32?

  • @axellness I got both Maschine and MPD 32. Maschine is better on every level. I only use my MPD to trigger samples when I DJ but when I get Traktor Pro 2 I'll be using Maschine for that as well. Also, if you get an MPD I recommend you upgraded the pads the ones that come with it aren't that sensitive. Good luck!

  • will u tell me how to get that money?

  • @David0Hawkings Work.

  • WILL YOU TELL ME HOW I CAN RECORD VOCALS STEP BY STEP BE REALLY APPRECIATED

  • i like that shit u straight guy keep it up

  • Do I need a computer to make music on Maschine or is it also standalone like Korg Electribe series? I didn't find any info about internal memory,so I guess it is just an overprized hardware controller for my DAW and the plugins, right? They call it sampler, but it has no Audio Ins and Outs, right?

  • knock bro where do you find these samples?..ooh god sick

  • Great tutorial. By the way, what is the name of the track being sampled?

  • learning alot from your vids bro..im reallying leaning towards this product i was think of grabbing an mpc but with that money i can get a decent soundcard to go with my set-up..so thanks for thes vids and keeping comming..PEACE

  • Can you use Native instruments with Fl studio?

  • Bruh got some hot videos of some hot ass beats! I hope I can configure this Machine as well as he does when I purchase it. Can you hook up a midi keyboard to it?

  • @gawpboi Thanks Man....and as for your midi keyboard queston...Yes indeed !!

  • Dope!

  • You and F Major are the BEST Maschine users making youtube videos. Sounds and Gear, Ki Dilla, and that 1 other dude are good tutorial givers. But you the shit at every aspect lmao. I learned so much from your videos! GOOD LOOKIN OUT FAM.

  • @KidCazal Kid..thank you Fam !!

  • Hello Everyone. I'm thinking about buying Maschine 1.5 but im totally new to beat-making. I don't want to start off with something complicated, but this MPC seems very simple... what else do I need to buy to be able to compose ?? I'ld apreciate it if you could type down all I need from A-Z . Thanks.

  • @ all producers- first off Knock your the man! I've been producing since 93... And love that ur education folks and giving excellent tips, tips I wish I had when I started, I grew up using the MPC2000, that thing is and will always be the s**t... I also used the ASR 10... Classic!!! So I disagree with people saying maschine is a waste of money... If u produced alot, savy on all them products, n If u know the MPC inside and out, take advantage of features, once u hope onto Maschine you'll see t

  • what you mean if you make a beat why not a hot beat l??? actualy this is way beter than 90% of youtube lolz

  • Yo knock I ended up copin one of these on the strength of your videos .... After using it for a while I'm a be honest and say the MPC tears this shit up ... If you have a decent D.A.W and are prepaired to take a little more time cutting up your samples etc then you can save your self the price of a Maschine ... Just ant folk to know that ... If your in two minds or think this is a replacment ... IT AINT .. its a luxurary item .. Save your money

  • @tyron26musikman everyone has a preference . Just like you have just said your opinion.. I have heard 100 people tell me that it tears the MPC up. The MPC is legend status forever... but to me, Maschine is the future. But again that's just MY opinion. The key is to ask yourself where will maschine be a 6 months from today with the way they are updating it...lol... I would bet that people would be shocked. I feel bad you copped it from my vids cause I dont like people to waste their money

  • @KnockSquared

Damn Fam I just read how that must have come across ... Man you got some great vids but I just want those who watch Maschine stuff and are new to beat making that if they have a decnt D.A.W like cubase / logic etc then there is no need for Maschine because its is just SOFTWARE ... That any decent DAW can do better. I hear what your saying bout the updates .. Hoping they pull it out the bag with 2.0 (which needs to be free) Peace tho knock

  • @KnockSquared Good Job.

  • 10 minutes of Hip-Hop at its purest

  • put some new joints up man!!!!!!!!!!!

  • how long did it take you to master the maschine bro?

  • Bro, i have some questions about Maschine.... If i was goin to buy Maschine, what else would i need to buy to start making music right out the box? Holla at me. Peace

  • whats going on bra?..good shit btw....i have a quick question..the business kinna derailed my love for just doing beats, but im back DAT NIGGA REB MURDER INC/REBELLIOUS MUSIC FOR LIFE!! lol...i was wondering..can i just buy this maschine (well i already ordered it) and get back to JUST doing pre-production??..and as far as like midi sounds..do i stilla have to hook up old midi sound module or does it have like some midi sounds with it?

  • Wait ...do you have to have a turntable to sample or can u sample from anything like the internet or put a file in to maschine and chop it up??

  • how do you hook up turntable to maschine

  • just bought and im trying to figure out how to play samples at same volume or velocity whatever you call it. please help

  • wait, wtf?? you just said "we get that money mane" right into the maschine??? do that thang even have a mic input ?? your record button wasnt even on though!

  • @akarc24 not right into maschine. my mic is going into my audio interface and the channel is then routed to maschines "internal" inputs,. The reason the record button is not pressed is because I am dropping my voice in as a "SAMPLE" .everytime I press the pay button on maschine it samples whats comingin throught the inputs. I have the sample setting set to sync with the sequence. hope this helps (maschine doesnt have audio or mic inputs on the hardware"

  • hay...

  • Love how you show the workflow here, especially that drum fill, nice!

Been looking at these for a while now. Subscribed!

    ~M

  • Do i need an audio interface to transfere vocals into the mpd32?

  • @4angiem the mpd is just a controller i believe so it controlls samples u have inside ur computer u cand load sample into the mpd right?

  • Yo, can you use the Maschine with FL Studio or any other software Program?

  • @buckeyefan05 yeah you don't need to use it with maschine's daw but it would be a waste of $600 just get an mpd or padkontrol if you plan on just using fruity loops. the $600 is paying for a daw and a beat pad

  • @ieatdoody Oh, because I'm thinking about getting the controller on EBAY for $200.

  • This video made my mind free mayneee

Do you know if its possible to combine the maschine with live performance of musicians making the rhytm when doing the rap?

Can you use it as a stand alone hardware device on its own without my mac attached to it?

    Appreciate you.

    Keep it coming

  • @whoislazy whats up . You can perform Maschine anywhere... but yes you must have it hooked to your laptop or desktop... good news is you can actually cut the screen off because you can do it all from the hardware..EVERYTHING

  • dope beat!

  • Hey KnockSquared, love your demos man! Thankyou so much for taking time to show how you come up with your tracks on the Maschine. You should be employed by NI (if you already aren't) to do product demos for them!

Thankyou all the way from Western Australia. You have truley inspired me to add the maschine to my DJ/ production set up as my next piece of kit :-)

  • I ve just seen your AKAI mpk49 somewhere at the back ,left alone in a corner..I guess you just answered my question from the 1min ago comment:)

  • I think you Mister got a lot of potential and this Maschine ,too:)I'm interested in music production and I can't go with the setup over 1000gbp(1500 $),but seeing some clips and ending with yours, definately made me buying it(unless you think akai mpk49 will offer me more things).plus tell us about your setup if you can(mic, computer, controller,i don't know). Thanks for your vid and keep it up...I'm quite good with lyrics, maybe we can collaborate one day.Big love from UK.

  • Nice. Makes me want to go get one. Currently I have an Akai XR-20 and I have a couple tutorials on Youtube.

  • sorry, why did you record 4 of each track? is it to give like a chorus type effect?

  • exactly...then I panned them to give it a wide effect. I do understand that some people like to use Chorus effect instead of layering but I am old school.

  • it's because people who are "old school" like you and me, although i'm still a youngin' / still learning... care about quality over pumping out song after song...

  • do you always have to look at the monitor for editing or straight off the screen on the hardware?

  • Jay....I NEVER look at the monitor... the way maschine is now... you dont have to look at it ..even when its time to save you can save from the hardware... I always forget I got a computer attached to it.

  • @KnockSquared Also, in your opinion, does it work better then the MPD?

  • @buckeyefan05 its a completely different system than mpd, its putting the MPC to sleep all models, its been chosen over the MPC by a big majority, people are selling mpcs for this, therefore the mpd doesnt stand against this at all, mpd is a controller only right?

  • Im thinking of this or the mc 808 what should i get? pros cons etc? thanks.

  • Hi there! I just got the Maschine, and I need some help!

I dont know how to import sounds from my HD or how to records voices. I have mics, and a externeal Sound card

You can do it throuth the Maschine software??

    someone can help me??

    Thaks

  • When you complete the song , can you transfer it to protools , A track for drums , track for the sample . A separate track for each thing that you did .

  • OMG I love it. The more I watch these videos the more I want to by me one. So I have a question: Is the maschine better than the boss dr 880, if so why and if not why. And can the roland fantom x6 do everything the mashine can do?

  • Corey...by the time you finish reading this reply you are going to kick yourself twice. First, I have a Boss Dr 660 and a Fantom X8. Neither can do what MASCHINE can do. You can sample your drums (or patterns) from your DR880 and use them in MASCHINE. You can use your X6 as a MASCHINE controller. So you can still get value out of your old gear. Now get ready to kick yourself...Maschine has gone up $100 US since its launch. If you are going to get it...get it soon...this thing is hot!

  • Thank you so much for responding so quickly. Happy new years my new friend. I'm so lucky to have you,. I got some good news; I went on ahead and ordered it. Ahow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to get it!!

  • Question to Knock: Awesome on the 1.1 update, but I have a Mac Notebook Pro and the update is not working, it's installed but I don't see evidence of what your video shows...any suggestions?

  • hey i have problems in logic too i cant record from maschine into logic

  • Entyce66 are you using the Maschine as an instrument plugin in logic?

  • yo knock tht sound like rick ross shit nice

  • 3. how is the software, that comes with it, with finding samples that have been moved, i.e the folder with all the N.I. samples, if you move it, will you have to load every sample for each pad?

i currently use fxpansion guru with a m-adio trigger finger and guru make me look for every sample one by one from the desktop and it take hella long. i'd appreciate if you can answer all the questins, either way good lookin...

  • good look on the get back.

    1. what sequencer r u ussin in this video?

    2. will it be as easy in fl... without havin to deal with the computer as much as you doin in this video

  • ayo dogg, i like that shit and that sample is tight.

would i be able to have a work flow like that using maschine in a sequencer such as fl studio?

holla back with the quickness cuz ima straight up g

  • Maschine works GOOD in FL . i have FL studio- cubase-Logic-protools and it works good in most sequencers...Logic I had a few problems but it is being worked out. But in FL it fits well.

  • @KnockSquared Can't Maschine be used alone with samples loaded into it's memory?

My question is: Is a computer always necessary to play songs, or can you just load your samples into it at home, and take it to the club for live performance?

Maschine looks amazing, but I need something that I can use to perform live without a computer or laptop "attached to it".

  • nice work fam. keep it flowin

  • Same thing here i had an mv8000 and i must say this maschine has a better work flow.

way faster than you will ever be on an mv or mpc.

But yeh it the fact that its just a controller is bugging me aswell although i dont really know why. its just a feeling i still working on a computer i geuss

  • Maschine is a software program and the unit he's banging on is just the controler. Keep in mind you must connect this to a computer.

The MV8000 / 8800 is a stand along unit that can also connect to a computer and use plugin etc. You should use whatever work best for you.

  • @j2smooth30 The answer to the question!!!

  • how many bars do you have yours set at when you record your drums? i can't seem to make them no less then 3. i guess i am just slow..LOL just asking

  • Good job homie! I might have to cop one of those and have it in addition to my MV 8000!

  • wut sample is that????

  • what sample is that?

  • damn son... remind to come to ur crib with a ski mask on...lol

    da relic

  • LOL>.. and while you hear ima get that Hard Disk recorder you got and all your beats. Call that shit the "Switch Robbery" ..we both get back to our cribs and be like "WTF"????

  • Ah, by the way. Those vocals.. as corny as it might seem, it works perfect. The 'hey' samples need a little FX, but it is pretty cool stuff. Great job.

  • Cool, has a sweet 70s and 80s feel to it with that swing in the beat. Feeling cool already (at 2:22).

Really digging your vids man. Do you still have an MV?

  • yo man..I have no more Hardware Samplers. NOTHING !!! Recession Baby!! And Maschine covers everything I had with all the other equipment and more. I miss my MV tho ..lol.. but only cause we had good times together.

  • Hey man, you say you had an MV and now have a Maschine? How do they compare? Is it worth me gettin an MV for 3 times the price of Maschine - I get the impression the sound quality would be phatter on an MV? Hit me back!

    PEACE

  • I had the MV for quite some time. LOVED it. Its a hot product. But honestly I can do everything with Maschine that I did with the MV. Also the quickness of maschine and the sounds are a win for me personally. I cant speak for everybody, just the way i used the two.... Maschine wins. I will always love the MV tho... some of my best beats were made with it.

  • Oh I forgot...one thing that I miss is the 8 audio tracks that the MV had (to record vocals and things like that) Maschine doesnt have that ...but as you see in this video...you can drop vocals and things down in it. I wouldnt say it would be impossible for them to add it in a future update because Native instruments is ON POINT with the updats for maschine.

  • Nice one man - just bought it online after reading your comment! Was deliberating over MV, MPC and Maschine for toooooooo long. ps, liked your kids ABC video, cute! She's gonna make it one day son! Good ear 4 music for such a little person!

    Peace!

  • this is one of the better vids on here i've seen for maschine. i'll be posting some as soon as i get a tripod.

  • The Vocals I mean.....How is it recognizing the mic?.........and how did you get the snare drum to play 16th notes like that?

  • when you sample in "sync" mode anything that is sampled with play the way it was recorded to the beat....for however many bars you set it. And Maschine recognizes my mic because i went into its settings and set it to sample "external" sounds. My mic is plugged into my audio interface.

  • there is a note repeat and you just select your repeat

  • There is a note repeat button next to the swing knob.

  • Is it recording right into the maschine or onto your computer and out of maschine? I been trying to do this for soo long....this vid is good but I would appreciate it if you made another one to show this more thoroughly...thanks man keep up the good work

  • why are you doing this? i swore i wasn't gonna buy any new equipment ...

  • thanks, i'm waiting for my maschine and your videos will be useful for me

  • Bro i have MAX respect for you man!! I mean you've obviously been doing this for years. And working this shiv out for yourself. For you to share this with other maschine users takes soooo much time off their own journey.. (if that's what they want to do with the mashcine) any ways it gives ideas to peeps as to what can be achieved. This is sharing.. and that is a great asset to someone. So as far as i'm concerned, you the man. RESPECT!

  • Prawn... I dig what you write... I thank you for that love!! RESPECT !!

  • Knock, another bangin' vid!

    D.C. Representer - 12th & G N.E.

    DMV All day ...

    1-thousand.

  • Hell Yeah Cuz !! DMV !!

  • another banger wish i can see what your pc is doing and what is the specs on your pc

  • sometime soon I will try to get a screen capture

  • as always good Tutorial & beat! , i'm starting to see more maschine on you-tube!!! BE-EASY yo

  • Thanks Man

  • Hey nice beat and good idea to flip the vocal in maschine. How did you sync your BPM to the original sample tho?

  • just by listening to the metronome and adjusting....helps that I am a DJ since age 13 :)

  • great video man.

  • thank you Hip Hop !!

  • this is dope homie! you and tasherre are making me want that maschine SO BADLY lol!

  • Turned out to be a nice track

    Keep em coming

  • Yeah...

That's some hot beat. Your voice is just perfect for that rap stuff. Keep it up!

  • dope!!

  • HEY!! Thats some pretty dope stuff doc!!

  • nice I think i need to get one of those. What the price tag on that?

  • yo bro, nice lighting, no more pink nails!! lmao

that beat is hot bro, are the brass bass notes from the maschine library or somethin? whats the warping (timestretch) like for audio when ur sampling? is it easy?

    props
