Sorry, just some final words To say that this film is about "white," "latino" or "black" people is garbage. These are extreme characters in extreme circumstances.

I can understand people feelings at scenes like the "Latino gangster" scenes. But, then again, the purpose of these characters is to present "obstacles" so a "nice" gangster wouldn't work now would it?

And they balance out the racial commentary with the Nazi scene. It's not a certain "race" that's evil- just people.

NO, this film is not about race. It's about one thing, and one thing alone...Michael Douglas's character wants to get home and see his daughter for her birthday. THAT'S IT.

Nothing else in the world matters to him. (Which is why he does stuff we would normally NEVER do.) And as you watch the film you get the sense that his entire world is falling apart around him- but he's gonna get home and see his daughter..NO MATTER WHAT
