no no he's not a traditional Muslim, he is from the Nation of Gods and Earths in which people believe they themselves are Allah (God), but thats blasphemous and contradictory to the teachings of tradition Islam and considered a grave sin
this video and song is the sickest. check out when he move from scene to scene verse to verse everything is on point. true hip hop b 4 his time, and still hold his own 2day with yesterday lyricks
even tho he didnt speak of guns, money and hoes, he didnt come off as a punk! he had that swager, that confidence - no need for promoting candy drippin paint and true and vouges - just give us tight ass beats and rhymes!
if you think your a mc watch this man...alot of ya'll lost the meaning of mc ...now it's just gangsta'z and pimps and nut ass rapper'z...it's time we wake up and stop lettin the masses control whutz ours..HIP-HOP
I totally agree with you. Even though I wasn't into the religious message or rap anymore, there has never been another rapper like Rakim. Yes, he was way ahead of his time. He would eat up every so-called mc's now. Rakim had a message! What are these rappers talking about today - money, guns, cars, h**s, B***h's, living the thug life - such nonsense! I see why they have so many half-naked women in bathing suits in their videos, they need them to distract them from their lack of talent.
