It's really close as far as my favorite out of about 15-20 of their songs, but I would go with "Bide My Time" from the Tightly Knit album...this one is definitely top 5...thanks
"Living on a pill, in a house on a hill, is another way. . . ." Truer words were never said than those on this song - covers about all of it! Rich Man was a song and album that woke me up to the politics of war, blues, and highness. they were all of that and more. Great band, great musicians - probably why they couldn't get much airplay in America until a mediocre offering like _______in the late, late '70s. Rich Man, or half a dozen other songs on that seminal album should be "hits" too.
I'd have to agree that the old CBB was a seriously-underrated band. The original CBB featured a spectacular lead guitarist/vocalist by the name of Pete Haycock. He sings on this song. For lovers of the old Climax Blues Band stuff, rejoice: Pete Haycock has returned to Live performances and has formed a spectacular new band called Pete Haycock's True Blues (featuring Glen Turner -- another great guitarist). New Live CD available at RMI Sound (dot com) -- it's truly great and recommended!
