  • Best song on the album!

  • the chord sequence resembles the doors' "hello i love you."

  • my cool boyfriend,s favourite track of all time

  • Oh, and you're right -- this album is especially killer when ya smoke. And turn down the lights on the music room, and drift away to the late 1960's.

  • Even Brian thought this album would be considered the Stones' "answer" to Sgt. Pepper; but for the most part, it actually stands on its own. This is one example of a great song that never made it real big. Pity.

  • This is the all time greatest alblum when you smoke.I have the original sheet music.Happy to see younger people are enjoying this.Peace

    .O.

    .PIECE.

  • always loved this song. check out "We Love You". Some good lesser known songs on Metamorphosis: "I Don't Know Why I Love You Babe" "Jiving Sister Fanny" "I'm Going Down". Don't remember if "Memo From Turner" is on that one. I thought it was on one of the older pressings. I know that there is a version of "Out of Time" that was on an older pressing which is not the same version that is on the London Years singles collection.

  • Interesting song, to say the least. I've always liked "Citadel". Before actually hearing it, I half assumed the title was a reference to the famous WWII battle on the Eastern front..clearly this song is about something else.

  • I would have to agree that this album is very underrated. I saw this in my local vinyl shop, except the cover had holograms on it! I was tempted to buy it, yet the price was out of range. Anyhow, I love this song and the whole album!

  • Don't know if records on DECCA / DERAM have different sounding mixes for STEREO than they did MONO, as I have In Search Of The Lost Chord by The Moody Blues MONO pressing and it's identical to the Stereo, whereas EMI albums like Beatles and Pink Floyd had many noticeable differences in the respective mixes. I think DERAM had the less usual at that time characteristic of the recordings being mixed only for STEREO, THEN being mixed as 'FAKE Mono' for Mono releases, with Stereo deemed more important

  • @Kelly14UK Not sure I agree with you about Street Life. However, check out Changeling by Simple Minds, which is itself a great song but which bears more than a passing resemblance.

  • dik..há' nézzed má'..bevehetetlenkedik..

  • that s the STONES IN DRUG

    super

    its the past

    never comes back

i love the song its one of my best stones song s

    peter

  • I wonder what Mr. Jimmy would say?

  • oh please, every song is a ripoff of another song.there are only 7notes in music.worlds will collide.get over it !

  • memories from my youth...

  • A wonderful original track that knocked me out from the time I first put it on---right after the album was released.

  • the best stones track besides "we love you ".....masterpieces

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!....want to know some juicy gossip about charlie that they dare not print in the magazines....go to "i see red jimeapg" and read my 3 comments. regards.

  • I wouldn't say this is better than pepper but it's not bad for The Stones first attempt on psychedelia.

  • love this album! the kathy he is singing about is Cathrine

    James

  • I had the original album with the cover you could move around to see all the secret photos contained within. Fun. The Stones stepped to the side and moved away from their blues/rock songs for a visit into the drug addled hallucinations of the times. But most people weren't ready for this kind of music from them.

  • I want to have sex while playing this.

  • That album cover is so cool

  • Rock and Roll Icons!!!

  • My fave Stones song

  • Thanks for the vimyl

  • Yep Keith invents punk... or adds to the Sonics garage. This is 70s punk, glam punk and late 70s punk too.

  • Unbelievable song!!

Gotta shell out for a mono LP!

  • Psychadelic rocker of the first order..imo best song of album.

  • great album i wish they did at least one more like this and buttons but the true stones start at beggars banquet and still roll today

  • Great song. Love the feedback. And the harpsichord. Thanks.

  • Classic example of a song easily given to a punk cover, yet could never rock as hard in the hands of a punk band. Scan the sidebar and find out for yourself....

  • @narozzz A bit pissed aren't you lol!

  • Better than sgt. pepper, really

  • @DXPunx74 We can't say that.... Pepper was realised in June.... and that one ...on December '67. It's a great album, make no mistake, and the stones made a great job in it! but.... pepper...is pepper.

  • @DXPunx74 No, no definetely not. A good album, very underrated, but never better than pepper's. I understand that you are a Stones fan so you see their stuff better than any other artist, and though you later may say that you are not a Stones fan, the truth is I know you are. I like the Stones and The Beatles the same, so I am not biased, all in fairness is a great album, but still some notches below Pepper

  • @9carva Pepper was good as well, but I like alot of rough sounding stuff. Take 2000 man, Shes like a rainbow, Gomper, On with the show, Sing this song all together (See what happens).....Were all great. Alot of the album had a spooky type sound to it. I mean bands like KISS, The Damned, etc. Covered songs from Satanic majesties. Pepper was a bit of a happy album save for "A day in the life". I like both.

  • Very cool tune! Always one of my favorite Stones songs. I have the original 3D album cover in my closet somewhere!

  • @KennyWrites really? damn!

  • This ain't No Sgt Pepper

  • @kiwicapper huh possibly because its not the beatles, nor is the album called sgt peppers lonely hearts club band

  • @TheTeehee97 o course, this was the stones answer t sgt. peppers, i read it in the rolling stone years ago

  • @mickeyadams527 i knoww, its funny though because like people make it out ot be a complete rip-off of sgt. peper's , but its actually a pretty good record in my opinion, a bit far out for the stones, but its still good.

  • the caprolites the caprolites the caprolites the caprolites

  • This is such an underrated album

  • @idiotboxx999 Yes, totally agree with you. This album is just GREAT.

  • @idiotboxx999 YOU ARE SO RIGHT!!

  • @idiotboxx999 the most underrated album ever

  • Roxy Music ripped this off for Street Life. This is a very original song and a favorite of mine.

  • @Kelly14UK yes.. great song

  • @Kelly14UK - The vibe is similar, the song structure vaguely related. The actual chords and melodies don't come anywhere near each other. The term "ripoff" is a little gratuitous for such a comparison, to say the very least.

  • @narozzz yupyupyupyupyupyup

  • @Kelly14UK oh shit there is a resemblance!

  • @Kelly14UK but then Mick ripped Jerry Hall off Bryan Ferry.

  • @gumper1967 Agreed. Heard it hit Ferry pretty badly : (

  • @Kelly14UK STP ripped off the guitar riff for Too Cool Queenie

  • @Kelly14UK Ripped off? I don't think so. That is pretty standard rock rhythm. And for only a couple of seconds.

  • @Kelly14UK Although Street Life is awesome

  • @TheKenfig I've got it. I think it's on a compilation called Street Life lol

  • @Kelly14UK I have it on 'Stranded' (1973) from which it originally comes ; side one, track one
