  • Fucking ground...

  • Such a big plane could hurt someone! It's a luck that noone hurt! I think these RC "flying bomb" things must have some saving/protection stuff like parachutes, airbags, etc triggered by a radio control lost signal or better "earth ahead" signal (:)) or whatever. They do have a radio feedback data, don't they?

  • This isn't that sad. It gives some poor schmuck reason to get away from wifie-poo so he can fix his toys.

  • outside of the fact that I'm sure this was an expensive repair (relative to other hobbies), this looks like a pretty GOOD crash. The fuselage didn't shatter to tiny pieces and it didn't explode. Why didn't it explode?

  • @GavinSimmons Repair? Thats a total write off .

  • Ouch how much did that run you?

  • oh man, did you build and customize it yourself?

  • @mattypotato15 it was!

  • owww

  • its a highly trained midget

  • I can't believe some of you thought it was a real plane it obviously wasn't because there was no explosion when crashed and it is way to small. Come on people use your brains

  • Redbeast2 I think it was just an rc

  • Was it a rc?

  • sorry bout your loss anything still work???

  • omg did he die?

  • Sorry for your loss! It was painful to watch! Beautiful plane! It does seem strange that you were flying it far away with no problems, and it loses radio signal over your head? Were there no other factors involved?

  • well that crash sucked

  • Looks way to small to be a real 1 lol ha ha!

  • That just sucks.

  • Appears perhaps it suffered a voltage drop. Didnt see fuel spewing so that tells me the pump hasnt even pumping fuel. Sorry for your loss

  • Hello Bob !

So sad to see it ! Receive our best regards from France, we watch your show every week-end and it may have giving me some ideas...

  • lol u got me

  • Beautiful model. Man, flying RC jets looks difficult!

  • its dude trust me I've crashed more than one lol but means he gets to build another most his parts believe it or not are prolly OK.

  • facepalm : (

  • Dammitt. Bloody shame.

    Gravity wins again .....

  • How fast does that thing go? And how on earth do you land that without crashing?

  • all the hard work and money all for a sick thud on the flightline...sux man sorry to see her go.

  • damn

  • @mattypotato15 wow how did u not no

  • yes

  • yah lol at first i thought it was a real plane too

  • he went joe stack!

  • 1:59 ouch dude....

  • 1:59 Ouch....

  • Delicious schadenfreude right there.

  • I will stick to foam and tape.

this would be to much for me.

  • @0MoTheG lol same

  • wow thats gotta suck! im sorry for your loss, looked like a very nice F-4. Im sure its extra painful with all the hours of work that went into it. =(

  • Did it stall? It made a strange sound then pulled up right?

  • Damn u must be rich to have this, be building a B1 and have all the other planes. U never seems to have to work, wow.

  • What kind of radio gear do you use?

  • Oh man that suck's ! That bird went in like a ton of brick's . Will they not glide at all ? Is your CG right ?

  • What a loss.... ;(

  • Shiiittt!! I think anyone that has owned anything remote controlled knows that feeling-I remember when the signal died on my 1/10th Gas road car on full power. First comes the futile attempt at running after it and then whilst huffing and puffing you are forced to watch it launch up a gutter and into a fence smashing into pieces. To add insult to injury, whats left of it laid upside down revving its tits off and by the time i got there the overevving broke the conrod. I feel your pain believe me

  • Ah man! Those lock outs really hit you in the nuts when it happens on the REALLY expensive ones. Looked like everything went to fail safe like it was suposed to, but just not enough sky to get it back. Sorry to see that man, but it happens to a lot of us. I know exactly how you felt when it went to failsafe. Not much you can do but cringe, wait for the crash, and hope it doesn't hurt someone. Keep you're head up and build another one. It's all you can do.

  • Always a shame to see someone's hard work get destroyed like that :(

  • Aww man )c:

  • Damn, Bob......

    Sorry.

  • Sorry to see your F4 going down like that man, can imagine how you feel!

  • crap sorry to see that Bob.....i saw this link on RCU....then i realized it was you after seeing Hornpilot

  • Oh crap! Just saw the video and felt my stomach churn as that beautiful airplane turned into a yard dart. I feel terrible for your loss and hope that you will be able to salvage more than bad memories. Keep 'em flying!

  • It looked to have been a little to much surface throw on the elevators from takeoff. What do think Bob. Sorry about the loss but like you said if you cant bare to lose one then you shouldnt be flying one. Keep at it buddy.

  • bob im sorry to see that crash we know you took so much pride in your F-4 , looks like the you lost radio feq

, would be kool if the pilot ejected out of it when it got into trouble

  • Nope, sorry. No flutter...failsafe stopping the engine or engine failure. But the dropping gear seems like a failsafe action.

  • To me it kinda sounded like a flutter. Are You sure it was a lockout as the flutter would explain the models behaviour quite well...Had the engine just quit, You should still have a gliding model instead of what I just saw...One elevator broke and put the model into spin...Sorry for Your loss.

  • So sorry Bob, very sad...

You have 4 satellite receavers, thats very strange that you had lock out. Was your radio antenna pointing upwards towards the plane? and also, is there a weader radar station close by?

  • Bob I feel for ya man, hope you can salvage as much as you can. I know finding the humor in a bad situation can be a good thing. Here's my bit of a smile I got from this. Right after the flame out occurs there is a voice. I may be wrong but after listening to it a couple of times it almost sounds like it says "Oh Goody."

  • I was reading yesterday (before viewing the video) at a JetCat representative site about static electricity discharge doing some harm to recivers and ECU. The theory is that the fuel shaking in the tanks could be a source of charge beeing generated, not to talk about the friction of the air at high speed over so much composite surface???

  • Damn... sad don't have words

  • Poor Bob! I hate to see that

  • Hi Bob,

Very sorry about the crash! Clearly not a pilot error, and a reminder that there are other things that might fail. Worse, the chance is bigger if more components are involved which is the bomber case. I came across a CO2 electric firing system sold at a company rouse-tech (usual pre and postfix). Maybe a nice project for Dad and his skills, that only requires a hatch

and a strong fixing point and maybe the SR71 can benefit too. I mean to use a parachute controlled with another radio?

  • wasw anything salvageable? that really stinks tho, it was sutch a nice model!

  • Sorry about the F-4 Bob...It was a beautiful plane!! Do you think you can rebuild it?

  • Hi Bob! that really sucks!!

it seems that your RC went to failsave. probably lost the signal when flying over the tip of the antenna or a fresnel-zone distortion/interference.

I use the ACT 3D-sender-diversity-system to get rid of this. (if you want infos about it contact me) - keep up the good work!!

  • Sorry for your loss Bob, Damn that sound will give me sleepless nights.

  • i dont can trust my eyes! holy thats bad! But there was noch chance for you to figure this heavy problem out at this high :(...sry for you bob it was a nice plane hope some electronics and engine still working!

  • That is just gut wrenching. I am sorry for your loss.

  • if it can happen to that its scary thinking that it could happen to the bomber

  • I feel your pain, that was a sad ending. :(

Lets hope this fills your accident quota for the time being, no need to see the B1 do something like that.

  • I feel sick.....I'm so sorry to see that Bob. I know the 'gut wrenching' feeling you must have as I lost $4500AUD in the ocean just before Xmas, never got a thing back.

  • That sure sounded like an engine failure....So sorry Bob, I think the world feels for you today.

  • Sorry Bob. You deserve better....

  • Happens to everyone from time to time but at least you got it on video.

  • Hate to see a beautiful plane go down in flames on its maiden.Sorry for your loss.Where can i send flowers :(

Well you know what they say,if you havent crashed you arent flying.

  • ouch...good thing it decided not to hit anyone on its way down, was that an eletronics failure? or did the engine let go? it sure came to a halt in a hurry.....thats not something ya want to happen there...hope the engine is repairable...

  • :'( I am sorry for your loss.

  • Holy crap!!!! :-( Sorry, Bob.....please tell us what happened in a later video, and show us your salvage!

  • (That thing was maybe hexxed from the start)

  • That is awful. Brings a tear to my eye. So sorry for your loss!

  • Craps! What happened there? Control surface fail? Anyways, thats bad. Don't get discouraged by this.

  • Thats a REAL heartbreaker :(

  • POOP!

I hate it when a plane goes down on the maiden. Sorry man.

On the brighter side, here's the opportunity that you were talking about to change the paint.

Good luck on the repairs and the next flight.

  • looks like that is true about those planes

  • Did you use the stock pipe? If you did and it is to small for the P-200 it will run hotter and could induce premature bearing failure. Sorry for your lose...

  • Oh Jeez Bob! So sorry, man. I really felt that one; not a good feeling.

  • Wow, I feel terrible Bob, I hate to see something like that. I'll Paint the new heli black with a playboy bunny on the side in memory of it's F-4 big brother.

  • That was a very sickening thud. I'm very sorry about the crash. Hope you can get a new one soon.

  • oh man, that really sucks. Sorry to see this happen Bob.

  • Aw man..., To Infinity & Beyond!

  • aww man that is sad!

  • some planes just don't have the mojo, this one was damaged in shipping and had alot of drama from day one. sorry to see it Bob

  • Now that turbo sucked.

  • now with that crash being due to a catastrophic engine failure, is that something jetcat will warranty? will they pay for loss of the plane and all components or will they only warranty the engine?

  • only reason I ask is because that engine didn't have hardly what, 15 minutes of run time on it?

  • I felt terrible after watching this Bob. I hate when bad things happen to nice people...Bob I know with your positive attitude this won't keep you down. Was anything salvageable? Keep us posted on the post mortem.

  • @Xnaron o yea landing gear and servos and turbine is ok I will send it in and will get it back like new ecu and fuel pump is ok wouldent take much jest a new kit

  • Even my wife was horrified by that crash ... and she's a sadistic nurse (they all are) who's not into RC at all ..... much like everyone else I'm REALLY sorry to see that, it's gut wrenching when you lose something you have placed your heart and sole into building (and money too boot), even if it was an ARF and not one of your scratch builds that thing had love and time on her that cannot be replaced!

  • Damm !! Bob that sucks buddy i know how you feel mate I've had unexplained crashes with my helis.

    Sorry for your loss Bob

    Patty

  • Is there any kind of insurance available for model aircraft?

  • Sounded and looked like a engine failure that took out the air system and reciever. As soon as the compressor quit, the gear popped out and she rolled over. Sorry Bob

  • Comment removed

  • hv u ever crashed a jet before

  • OMG I know just how you feel Bob been there. At 1:56 into the film you can hear something go wrong with the motor it sounds like, first the roll the the crash so sorry Bob.

  • Nooo! Oh, Bob - I'm so sorry to see that :'( That was a beautiful plane, man. Strange sound at 1:56 just prior to the crash - is that what a flame-out sounds like?

  • Comment removed

  • Looked like a lockout?? Gear come down and flame out at the same time then a slow roll.

Makes me feel sick Sorry for your loss Bob .

    Hows the engine?

  • I'm sure no words can make it better; but crashing is a part of RC. As long as wood and metal have been going into the sky, they have been falling out of it. Everyone who has flown knows how you feel. Our only comfort is that no one died today. Wood and metal and plastic can be put together again, as long as the flier has the heart. And you, my friend, have the biggest and best heart in Kansas. We grieve with you, and look forward to your thumbs on the sticks again when the time is right.

  • @devers6 thanks them was some kind words

  • very well said!

  • must have been a malfunction, knowing bob he is a very experienced pilot.

  • @humanmissile yep lost raido

  • Oh, sad. Good flight, though.

  • OMG! that hurt to watch. Sorry for that Bob. Worse yet is as if losing that F4 is bad enough I am wondering if the Bomber is now down one engine?

  • @bhwystar its ok I will send it to jetcat and will be fine the bomber will live!!

  • I think i feel sick

  • I know I know I know I'm not supposed to comment...... but what happened? Everything was going so well and then splat!!!

  • I am very surprised and very sad , for what had happend, sorry for your loss Bob.

  • Wow... All I can say is, sorry for your loss...

  • horrible just horrible so sorry Bob

  • Oh my god ! the F4 was beautiful what happened ?

  • OUCH !
