Actually GM is still a long ways away, just take a look at the cobalt up close then go and look at a Honda Civic and you'll see what I say. Look at the gaps between panels and the attention to detail. Even the trucks which North America is in love with. Nissan and Toyota have GM, Chrysler, and Ford all beat. Nissan Titan and Nissan Pathfinder Armada have much better attention to detail with a price and RESALE value to match.
i see what ure saying, but ur missing one thing...ur comparison of a Cobalt to a honda civic...#1, the base model cobalt makes more power than the civic, the cobalt sport makes the same power as the civic si(pre-2006 model), and the ss cobalt is just in a class of its own. GM is a performance-based name brand and always has been. I dont like ford, so im not sayin anything about that. And Chrysler is trying to mix luxury with performance...not working by the way.
Well it was never exiting to begin with. SUV even less exiting, especially if you are going to use it in the pavement. What is the point? Image? They have image all wrong.
211 for the 3.5, 242 for the 3.9, and 303 for the 5.3 for 06. 211 for the 3.5, 233 for the 3.9 and 303 for the 5.3 in 07. Looks like the little man had his facts straight from the get go.
MetalSanke, don't get me wrong, the old impala's were classic, but you take these new SS's and they'll outrun a lot of your old classics with hardly no effort. Times change I enjoy old and new, until you drive the Imp you drive the new Imp you can't really appreciate it. Granted it's FWD, but these cars are powerful competition. Also, I believe that GM is heading in the right direction times change consider what the Imp is up against. For example the Camry, Accord, and altima's to name a few.
true unless u add ur own touch to it. lower the car add after market rims, tint the windows, slap on a chevy decal in the back window and you got urself a pretty unique, decently fast car. cant deny the old impalas were the true american classic tho.

That's a load of bullshit. GM's new Chevy Tahoe, Chevy Suburban, Chevy Silverado, Chevy Avalanche, etc. are lightyears ahead of Nissan's shit.

The Impala went from a american classic to a boring family car.
