This was back when it was still surreal to see huge stars show up in WCW. BRet Hart was such a WWF guy and to see him on Nitro was wild. Same with Warrior in 1998.

Bischoff had the mexican and japanese wrestlers, the NWO and ripping off established WWF stars going for him, but he couldn't keep doing that indefinitely and his inability to create WCW stars from within with the exception of DDP and Goldberg accounted for WCW's demise. At some point people got tired of the NWO and seeing the same guys winning the title week after week. Russo came in and basically drove the final nail in the coffin because he was even worse than Bischoff.
