Ever since the last of the heavy debris washed ashore (Mid april) we only get the occasional barnacle ridden log, or the occasional bit of floating trash around here (I live in Japan and still help with food distro and clean up efforts). To date, I have yet to see this myself and have not found a single report that backs this up.
