Where-as if we can actually customize it ourself to our liking i do not know (though would be cool!) it should feel like a new ship. Bioware even said new rooms were added.

I wonder why they didn't upgrade the SR-2 by adding the "swing wing" feature the SR-1 had. If I remember right, on the SR-1 the outer engines could be swung inwards. Not sure why that was needed though unless it was to allow the SR-1 to fly into tight spaces or was essential to allow the ship to accelerate.

New 'Separated Plating' looks a little bit more aggressive, but I personally prefer the old hull. Not because It just plain suits the ship better, but because the Normandy is a frigate, not an attack vehicle. Though used as just that on occasion, it is not the primary directive of the ship's class.

@Mournful3ch0 Yeah the role of a frigate is mainly to scout and in combat either defend larger ships from fighters and enemy ships flanking or the frigates are grouped into wolfpack flotillas of 4 to 6 ships to destroy enemy ships whose shields have failed. However unless its an all out war dreadnoughts barely see combat and its mostly frigates with sometimes a cruiser attacking some random pirates which they can easily handle. And the SR2 isnt a normal frigate, it destroys a collector cruiser.

But the SR2 still a very heavy frigate maybe even unique in the fact its not really a frigate or a cruiser but a cross between those 2. And im sure it would be deadly even without joker piloting ;). Not to mention that Garrus is supposed to be the one shooting since he is a gunnery officer. (always found that weird in the game :P)

Looks great, but one thing I'm still thinking about - in ME2, when Joker gained EDI full control of the Normandy to kill Collectors aboard...is it still only EDI aboard Normandy, or it's Normandy at all? Because with full control over the ship, the EDI became something like soul or personality of the ship, so maybe she shall be called Normandy...

But I'm afraid that funny arguments between Joker and EDI/Normandy are over x/ (they became something like friends in ME2, didn't they?)

Not exactly. The Alliance may not have rebuilt the SR2, but it has been modified between ME2 and ME3. The most evident upgrade is the weapon bench.

@GamerRangerX By "New Normandy" If you know anything about Mass Effect 1&2 you will know that SR1 was destroyed and Cerberus made the SR2 after Shepard is jailed in the ME3 the Alliance Commandeer the Cerberus model and Refit and Repaint the SR2, so no not in the traditional sense of the word but all and all different so by saying new he did abide by the words meaning causing your argument to be baseless.

In Mass Effect 3 the upgrades come from the Alliance who believe that since the SR-2 uses the SR-1s design, the ship actually belongs to them. So they took her apart, studied her, and put her back together adding some new stuff... Who the hell let them TOUCH MY SHIP!
