@demandmyrespect He had dementia. He had no idea what was going on. When they did an autopsy of his brain, it was said that the brain resembled that of an 85 Year Old Alzheimer's Patient. So it isn't his fault.
8 years later and I still teared up when Eddie showed up out of nowhere in the ring. It may have been accident with the camerawork but that was a very touching moment.
this truly is one of the greatest Mania moments ever, just a shame we cant talk about it, or Benoit at all for that matter. yes i know what he did and i am not supporting or excusing it but you cant just erase someone from history like the wwe is doing with Chris Benoit, he was a great wrestler and should be remembered as just that, not a murderer or anything else, i think its disrespectful what wwe is doing erasing this man from history, its just not right or respectful
@ECWhead28 Very true. The both had worked so hard and for both of them to be standing there as champions, it was truly amazing. All their hard work had culminated into that one, single moment.
And about Benoit; you can't blame WWE for blocking him out.
I like how Jim Ross pointed out the relationship between Eddie Guererro and Chris Benoit and why this was such a special moment for those two...Loved this Wrestlemania, i always forever remembered this moment...
It's a shame that this entire Wrestlemania is pretty much non-existent because of how the WWE doesn't wanna be associated with the actions of Chris Benoit. This was those moments that would bring a tear to your eye in and it happened in a huge arena like Madison Square Garden nonetheless.
It's sad because they're not only erasing Chris Benoit finest moments, but one of, if not the greatest Eddie Guerrero moment. Also the first ever triple threat match for the world heavyweight title in Wrestlemania. I'm just let the fans make that decision instead of making it for them.
I know what Benoit did and I would never excuse or condone what he did. But I did think WWE should have made the decision to completely. I think they should have kept him in and let the audience decide whether they want to wtach it. If something offends you that much, you won't just sit there and watch. They not just erasing the memory of Beniot but also alot of other great wrestlers amazing moments. To the point where we can barely talk about an entire Wrestlemania anymore.
I fucking lost it when Eddie came to join him, it was like all my wrestling dreams came true that night when both Eddie and Benoit won the world titles. I followed them since WCW (not ECW mind you) and saw them constantly get stepped on and booked horribly. Never thought I'd see the day.
These guys winning the world titles meant the world to me as a kid. They made me feel like anything was possible, if these guys could do it then so could I. They weren't biggest or the baddest but damn they fought as hard as they could each time they got into that ring. It's a shame how things turned out. I was completely devastated when they died.
this is better than randy orton and john cenas hug after cena was fired by 999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 times
If Eddie Guerrero had not gone before him, Benoit and his family would still be alive. The trauma of losing the man who was his best friend and brother, coupled with the severe brain damage he suffered as a result of the incredible matches he consistently gave, made Benoit's mind snap. While Benoit, a good and passionate man at heart, is erased, Randy Orton continues to molest women, boast about it, yet still gets pushed.
It is Vince Mcmahon who deserves a spot in Hell and not Benoit.
what a sad story. even with the medical evidence showing benoit was not benoit in his final days he is still labeled a monster and erased. the best wrestling ever seen in our lifetime is gone.
if you have never seen benoit vs malenko or the two tagging or benoit vs edge then you have not seen wrestling
its so sad that these two couldnt induct each other personally in the hall of fame, benoit did induct eddie after he passed tho and benoit will NEVER get inducted ever its sad
This should be included in those nostalgic WWE highlight packages they show every so often. This should be mentioned anytime someone talks about classic Wrestlemania moments. Instead it's just depressing in retrospect.
Have to agree, definitely one of the most beautiful moments i ever witnessed in WWF/E. I feel awful for both Eddie and Chris. Demons just caught up on both - but my word what magnificent performers.
If chris benoit died by car accident or died by steroids or something like that insted of killing himself or killing his family he would of been inducted in the hall of fame this year in his hometown insted of drew carry. Dean malenko or rey mysterio would of probably induct him and his wife would of made his speech just like vickie guerrero did cause damnit that was a great moment. Its a shame they can't show this on tv anymore everytime they talk about wrestlemania greatest moments..
@TheSHN61 and why not? he was an induction into the celebrity wing. You're telling me there are more deserving celebrities? one of the RAW guest hosts maybe?
@wizzi0 umm yea guys like mike tyson. He had a wrestlemania moment when he knocked out shawn michaels. Hell everytime they an attitude era moment they always him fighting with stone cold. Mr.T should be in the hall of fame for celebrity wing.
@TheSHN61 dude i know that people say that his and his families death is a suicide, but it might be arranged by someone, someone who hates benois. I am just saying
@TheSHN61 Even if it was suicide he still would've been honored. Too bad he was a murderer. Wish he didn't die. I would've loved to see his scheduled ECW match with CM Punk.
@TheSHN61 I agree man. Among the greatest technical wrestlers in the industry Benoit was in the top ten of all time. I would include, Kurt Angle, Bret Hart, Dean Malenko and Eddie Guerrero in that list. Any others?

Really I don't care how good of a PERFORMER he was. He massacred his little baby and wife. What the fuck is wrong with you people who still worship him?
@ThePoliticalToons because it was an unfortunate circumstance to the amount of stress and stuff he put on his body and mind. His mind in the report was degraded to an 85 year old with alzimers pluss the steroids added to him snapping. yes he did kill them and he will face punishment for that by his maker but it was due to the price he paied for only wanting to wrestle and get better for the fans. so when people look on him overall they understand and look to his career as an positive endnote
Respond to this video... also in respect and rememberance of what could happen if you do not take care of the well being of the people who are in wrestling organizations around the world
i remember watching this live, i was about 10 years old, it brought tears to my eyes. i dont care what anybody says about Chris Benoit, he was still one of the best wrestlers to ever walk into the wwe.
you know whats a damn shame? that in the wrestlemania 27 issue of wwe mag ion the wm 20 match card this match isn't even printed on the paper. that sucks for chris.
@viperrkoseveryone well HBK said Eddie was a born again Christian, so therefore he would be in Heaven. Yea he was on drugs at one point but he stopped that, got his life right, I mean we all make mistakes. But hey, what matters is how the story ends. Eddie died of heart problems because of former drug taking, not any he had taken in the last few years, so I firmly believe Eddie is in heaven. @Justin3Santiago Question? why are you commenting on video which shows someone you clearly dislike in a positive. It isn't like the people on this particular video are going to want to see that. Second question? Why are you watching this video in the first place
@Justin3Santiago You can't actually predict the mind of a person unless you know them personally....you do not and will never know Eddie personally so you do not know exactly if he would be ashamed or not for Benoit's actions and even if he is..we won't know that until we meet him ourselves....and why compare Benot to the likes of Hitler one who had murdered thousands of people for his own desires?..that comparison is pretty extreme and very sad minded on your part.
@Justin3Santiago You can't speak for another man. who know how he would have reacted to it. I'm pretty sure he would be thrilled, but I think he would have been a supportive friend and got Benot the help he so desperately needed. But again that's only spectulation. You can't judge a man's entire life and existence on one moment or event, an act brought on by madness. That's like people writing off Eddie Guerrero as nothing more that a drug addict which couldn't be further from the truth.
Wow the 25 people who dislike this don't know shit about anything these guys were best friends I think even before the wow days and all the hard work they did paid off champions on the same night on the biggest stage nothing better then that
This is THE greatest Wrestlemania moment in my eyes. Eddie and Chris worked their asses off in WWE and to finally see them as world champions would make any real wrestling fan emotional. And just seeing them hug each other shows how much the world titles meant back then and how much passion they had for the business. There will never be another Eddie or Chris, R.I.P
no without vince mcmahon they would fight in va halls infront of 100 people same goes for hulk hogan who was just a bodybuilder at that point iron sheik was the wwf champion and had a real background in amateur wrestling and just bcz hogan was licking vince mcmahon's ass he "beat"the iron sheik im saying that the rock stone cold and the others you mentioned are better as entertainers than wrestlers the one true man who was not an ass kisser a great wrestler and a performer is the undertaker
This is one of the top reason's I'm pissed at Vince for erasing Benoit. On the highlight for WM 20 on the bluray of the 25th WM they only showed the part with HHH and HBK. In my opinion Benoit made that match. And this part should've been included in the highlights.
I wanna cry. Not only for the deaths, but because this is back when I LOVED wwe. I can't watch it anymore cus I'm older, it's fake, and not as good anymore. Even knowing that it's fake, I could still enjoy old wwe, because there were more technical wrestlers and the cruiserweight title was enjoyable to watch.
im sorry but i can only feel hate for chris benoit.... i just dont like the murder of children.....

@Tabitha43 He had the mind of a 85 year old, was on sterioids, heavily depressed from the death of his best friend, brain damage etc.

no without vince mcmahon they would fight in va halls infront of 100 people same goes for hulk hogan who was just a bodybuilder at that point iron sheik was the wwf champion and had a real background in amateur wrestling and just bcz hogan was licking vince mcmahon's ass he "beat"the iron sheik im saying that the rock stone cold and the others you mentioned are better as entertainers than wrestlers the one true man who was not an ass kisser a great wrestler and a performer is the undertaker
