Such a charming and lovely voiced man. Too bad that he had such a tragic life after the suicide (Might have been an accident) of his only son, at the age of 21.
The comments on this site are not only uninspired but rediculous! Hedy Lamarr real last name was Kiesler, a very wealthy woman, who invented de-coder resources for the military, as well as inventing technology for "the cell phone" later discovered her patene in the 80's
I was only a toddler when I saw this film on TV. The only thing I remember from it is this scene. I looked for it everywhere, I new nothing of it origin and here it is. It means the world to me. Thank you for posting it. Bless you.
My photographer friend said I looked like Hedy Lamarr. Of course, I didn't believe him. Although I would love to have that face! People tell me I look like different women of the cinema. I wish I could see that. I think of myself as just an average girl. Puzzles me to no end.
She was incredibly gorgeous..and so effective in this scene. No wonder she was a sensation in her first American movie. Unfortunately though, this movie set her up as a cool glamorous babe and MGM wanted to capitalize her beauty in non-descript movies..But this one was an United Artist release.
Que mujer tan hermosa , por algo le decian que era la mas linda de su epoca.

Not bad work for Charles- kissing... I mean working with Ingrid in "Gaslight" and Hedy in "Algiers". ;)
