  • o ya, and jiffy cubes suck, GO ROCKWOOL!

  • lol, foil feed! dude, no offense, but you suck, you dont know what your talkin about, tap water works perfectly fine, and you trim the leaves to promote root growth, prevent molds, and in some cases fit more clones in one area/tray, also, if you take too many clones off the bottom, youre mothers will get too tall, ive found the tops root just as good or better, and old bottom stuff dont like rooting if the branch is real woody, or like a stick.

  • lol, foil feed!

  • Love thA intro lol

  • Can I but that rooting solution I'm in uk

  • I like how you poured the bottled water over the pan evenly.... Might I add it's "FOLIAR" feed, not "FOIL" feed. Beautiful plants, great vids. Happy growing & keep up the good work!

  • @SteelShredd

Indeed friend it is is FOLIAGE we spray and in cannabis culture we tent to say Foliar in relation to spraying our plants in any context with water or with a give agent for bugs or mildew!

Sometimes I may not come through clear due to medication other than the cannabis I take toxic medication to stay alive. Thanks for addressing the correct use of 'FOLIAR'.

I closing this is o retraction rather a conformation that SteelShread is correct!

  • @Jason0930 Aww lighten up, I was just fuckin with ya. I fumble words all the time. I just like to humble those with supermassive egos.

  • @SteelShredd

We work hard to bring in movies to you for free!

We sometimes cannot tell who is fucking with us which is a wast of my time or my wife! I know you never meant any harm. If you had answered over 1 million comments and questions you would understand we read into things wrong we are human!.

Your comment is correct however I could say the same for your ego in bringing it up. I respect a good conversation that yields good info for the viewers!

  • gorgous plant. peace

  • embolism

  • I think a cool experiment would be to make some willow water and put it up against the product you are using now.

  • Dont ever spray your plants directly or cut them its not necessary. Spray the inside of your dome rather. clones root faster and are healthier

  • if you clone one sex plant can you get a plant with a diffrent sex???

  • friedric nietzsche 04:09

  • als have you even tried more advanced methods ,like tissue culture? i have a good backgroung in sterile technique and mycology ,so i think i could pull it off if i knoew what kind of agar media to use and what the sterilization technique for the cutting was ,and how to care for it after its in the agar medium,id reall be interested in seeing it done and what the first growth looks like and what the plant look like before you transfre it to your grow media

  • and like snot or sap or something, i think its just to seal the stem ,but i dont think it has a rooting hormone or promoter in it,i never cloned befor, also i wuld think cutting the leaves like that is not good,

  • so you said to foliar feed,i heard you just mist with water,so what do you mix in the mist water for food?and what about heating mats ,do i really need 1?i take it you used a humitity dome right?also what is the best and or most common rooting hormne to use?i got a kit a while back but i haven used it ,it came with these root bark plugs, not peat pellets, they were alredy wet,and olivias cloning gel,but it dont say it has hormone,so do i use a rooting hormone and thrn use the olivias gel?its black

  • Azos all the way duders...

  • also what are great tips for keeping your soil clean and pest free besides the common sense pesticides and sticky traps, ive also been using mosquito dunks cause they organically kill larvae but i dont even want to have to bother with pest again to this point. i want a better method.

its mainly just in the soil, ive had no trouble keeping them off the plant but no matter what i cant seem to rid of them in the soil..

would be super appreciated. take care and happy growing.

  • @ProfessorGerbik Next time add a generous amount of diatomaceous earth to your soil mix. 2-4 oz per gallon of soil is my rate.

  • hey jason man i could use your help right now.

long story short, what are very great tips you standby for keeping your plants perfectly healthy from top to bottom even through flowering, excluding the natural effects of course.

my first time in soil. was going great until i went into flowering, its been going down hill. one more month.. im just hoping it makes it trough, buds are growing great but my leaves are drooping badly now with no signs of return.. ive tried everything.

  • @ProfessorGerbik Its called autumning, its a normal part of the plants life

  • what plant is that?? specie.

  • good shit mannnnnnnnnnnnn

  • I posted 2 videos of 2 of my plants, could someone pls look at it and coment pls.

    Just want a outside opnion.

  • Hey bro! Great video man. Thanks so much for putting out such a specific and detailed video. You're an incredible teacher. Just a question though. I've also heard that cutting the tips of the leaves off of the clones also aids because instead of putting energy into those leaves, it generates energy towards new growth instead. Do you have any idea as to how true that may be?

  • why does your plant have no flowers, -__-, waste of time

  • @YoungJu202 ... because its his mother plant dummy. The mother is kept in permanent veg state to produce clones.

  • Hi Jason! Greetings from the Midwest USA. Got a question based on what you reccomend, I run a 400 mh for veg, and a 600 hps for flower. Would you reccomend running dual HPS or just my 600 hps and the 400 mh? i bought the conversion bulb, but just wondering what you reccomend? Thanks for the reply bro. You always seem to get great results

  • Hi Jason, Hows it going ever heard of a brand name Aptus? Great videos by the way. You rock man, keep doing what you do and sharing the knowledge.

Been using Aptus here in Europe but they are planning on come to North America soon. They all organic and products are really concentrated, a bottle lasts long. Ots like 25 mil a 100litres for some products. Interested in giving it a try.... Let me know

  • Thanks Jason, ill be trying your technique soon to sex some bagseed going in holes outside and also just in general. You mentioned the 7 or PH neutral factor of the pellets and by adding that aussie juice is the ticket or similar rooting solution. Like the inexpensive aspect of it and ive seen your results. I take it you can then place the tray under a 150w cfl bulb for a couple of weeks. Good job.

  • The reson i cut my leafs when i clone is there is no root system to keep them alive. And the only way the plant can get water is though the leafs. So haff the leafs so there isent much to keep alive.

  • i found that you dont need to spray or foilar feed the cuttings. as long as the air around the cutting is 80 to 95 rh.

  • you trim them so they dont waste energy into the leaves but into the strain

  • Cloning is done by taking cuttings from the oldest part of the plant being the bottom branches. The rooting hormones are located in highest concentration at the oldest part of the plant again being the bottom branches. Indeed one can clone from the upper branches however they will take longer to root which is really the only difference! For optimal rooting times cut low!

  • @Jason0930

holy ____ a year ago? seriously, well that's cool,

anyway...yeah this must be why it has taken so long for my clones to root, I have been taking the clones from the top!!

Also Jason, does it matter how big you make the clones, how many nodes you should use or does it matter?

Also, is there any way to preserve clones?

  • In my personal opinion no leaves should ever be cut unless under attack by bugs or a Bonsai or Topping method is being used which produces many leaves thus thining out is important.

    Jason Wilcox

  • i do believe trimming the ends off the leaves as well focus the plant on growing up instead of putting effort to grow outwards.

  • i do believe trimming the ends off the leaves as well focus the plant on growing up instead of putting effort to grow outwards.

  • how long does it usually take for roots to develop ?

im just having a problem with my lot atm

starting to piss me off = (

  • @PuncHerThroat tbh im not sure since I have never grown it myself, but you should check out marijuana time lapse videos. They show the progressive growth of hemp throughout its life cycle with a label of each week added in the clips. Overall the videos can be 1-5 min on average and they cover about 8-10 weeks of growth.

  • jason, how long does the MMJ process take for Severe Arthritis??

  • could be wrong but i also belive that cuttin the tips off promote root growth.

  • @doldei

You got me on that one a razor is the optimal choice for cutting a clone. See us older growers get set in our ways. LOL

    Thanks for the correction

  • @Jason0930 I was just being an asshole , we all learn something from each other ! Good grows !

  • There are a few different reasons clones root. Feeding nutrients to your clones is not one of them.

The reason clones root is because they dont have enough nutrients to survive more than a week at best. I have discovered that cuttings root faster when you flush nutrients from the mother for a few days before taking cuttings and spraying clones once a day with tap water leaches out extra nturients to encourage root growth.

I usually get roots in 5-7 days max. GrowBCBud. com

  • @growbcbud

Indeed roots will grow in the same time period. The amount out rootlets matters to me personally. Additionally stressing out new babies could lead to herme weed. Try the product and compare root mass you will see the differencem

    Jason Wilcox

  • @Jason0930 It would be nice if we could all see the amount of roots your method produces. You didnt mention how many days it took etc. Ive used Jiffy 7 peat pods before, they are awesome especially if you need to do a few hundred clones at a time, I like that you can buy a box of 1000 for about $80.00.

  • you trim the leaves so it wont transpire as much.

  • @ph33ric

    What are you talking about?

Leaves are cut IMO to see new growth which implies new roots.

1hen you become a grower you will learn stem and leaves contain medicine and are often used for cooking butter for cannabis editablesm

Read some books and grow some weed man then you may learn.

    Jason Wilcox

    .

  • @Jason0930 practice what you preach man, been growing for 7 years and read hundreds of articles and documents on weed biology, completely read the cannibes cultivation bible and the medical marijuana cultivation bible. i invented 100% no chemical hash oil extraction from rapid cooling and heating of water. from this video it looks like your an armature w/ a big wallet and lots of space. kinda like when you see a 16 yr old in there parents fararie..

  • @Jason0930 cutting leaves in half to reduce transpiration taking a clone

forum|grasscity|com/indoor-marijuana-growing/492989-question-about-trimming-fan-leaves-during-flowering|html slow transpiration you trim the leaves

Trim large fan leaves in half (Reduces transpiration; the newly forming roots don't have to initially support as much leaf).

    tokeup|com/growfaq/1308|htm

  • @Jason0930 ph33ric is absolutely correct...you want less transpiration to focus energy to the roots. Cutting the leaves also allows you to put more plants closer together...don't dog someone if you don't know

  • @ph33ric Your videos are great, but the reason you cut the leaves is so that the energy of the plant is concentrated into the roots and not in keeping big and broad leaves alive... cheers ;)

  • @ph33ric yeah that's what i've been told.

  • how much water do you add to the eco root i got the 5g bottle it doesnt say on the bottle?

  • how the fuck do you smoke stems and leaves? that would just give me a headache.. people want buds and trichomes dude.. that huge tree didnt have one fucking bud on it

  • @traemorgan18 it hasnt strtd budding yet fool...

  • @jaccparks its so big it should have by then

  • @traemorgan18 because its in veg or else he wudnt be taking clones from it most likely

  • @tankownzu well i guess cloning and growing are two different things then. makes no sense to me but ok...

  • @doldei Ever heard of assimilation or leaf " transpiration " ? ... we cut it because of the light ... sure, with that huge cannopy ! And light ? be careful , one can lose the rooting by shocking effect , first days no direct light ! cutting on a 45 degree angle ? we want the stem to seal, it's not like a rose cutting you know .... cut it straight !

  • Hey Jason, love ur shows, keep it up ;) RESPECT

cut the leaves of the clones to see which leaves r new when the plants are rooted

This is 100% true but it has a extra advantage

When cutting your leaves, even if the cut-off part is as small as 3 mm from the tip, the plant will stop to develop the leaves into full maturity.

If you don't cut the tips of the leaves the plant will try to root and develop those leaves at the same time, so the success rate goes down drastically (easily up to 50%).

  • who still uses juffy cubes....buy some rockwool and actually get lush white roots, newbs

  • smoking the leaves/stems is what makes your throat hurt/ get that headache, thats why male plants are practically useless, however, some leaves DO have resin on them, but still you should only smoke the buds

  • @deeATXkay

Trichomes reside on trim and stocks if you use a 30X mIcroscope you would see rather argue with me. I use my AAA trim for cannabutter for cooking.

Dude look up Trichome or take a good look a a fully flowered mother.

I stand by what I said.

  • @Jason0930 yes i agree, all im saying is, your not going to get anything but a placebo affect from SMOKING leaves/stems........however you CAN make some excellent cannabutter out of it...*eats a piece of my toast * ... all im saying is, to people like us who have any sort of tollerance to this medication, smoking a stem or a leaf...no matter what the thc on it is, would be no more than a tease, in my opinion, never said they have NO thc

  • ok im a beginer i now you smoke the buds but can you smoke the leaves

  • you could but dont just make oil budder or hash from leaves and stem

  • wait until you are 18

  • Yes, but it's only wothwhile smoking the very small leaves trimmed off the buds! because they have the most Thc on them.

  • @saintsrownerdboy you would usually use the leaves to make, lets say cannibus butter

  • Just cut 50 clones last week and used Eco Root and Ocean Magic . 100% Organic...

    They are all looking sweet....

  • Can plants that are already in the flowering stage be used as clones after mature flowers have been removed. IOW can I just cut off mature buds and turn the lights back to 12 hours??

  • yes you can keep plants alive and if you turn the lights on 24hours a day for a while, they will sprout new growth.. keep lights on long 18/6 etc till you want them to flower again, anew, THEN put lights to 12/12.. the night period is vital to the flowering, the day period is vital to growth/reveg.. plants are stronger and more thc second crop, third, etc.. old bud material gets smokeable, new growth is new.. must prune and train like bonsai, it's fun. add co2 homebrew and high temps.peace

  • Thanks for the info!:-)

    More questions:

Why "must prune and train like bonsai"?

I have only seen one attempt to bonsai on your videos and that one didn't work.

Also, your last comment "high temps"... does that mean that the temperature should be higher than on first crop?

  • I got a sample Aussie Tonic at my lhs (benefits of showing your medi license) but noticed it says on the label DIammonium Phosphate and Ammonium Nitrate which are not organic?

I'll use the eco root by itself then since I'm going organic.

  • very good info..thank you jason

  • Thanks for this video Jason.

  • you can also get some chlorine remover at any pet store place that sells aquarium supplies, it really works well, it's cheap and it goes a long way.

  • i swear by the green planet stuff. they ppl there are chill and there prices are competitive. doesnt hurt that i live 3 blocks away from the store ether. keep up the good work man and keep teaching so we can keep learning.

ps. i agree that a good teacher repeats them self's often so ur doing great man.

  • air embolism, I just learned the word myself, The videos are awesome, I have really learned a lot as a first time grower.

  • Thanks for checking on the spelling for it is important.

  • Also, when you trim the leaves on the clones that forces the hormones to make new growth instead of making those leaves bigger. Great Video

  • i wanna light my weed with lightning

  • fyi warm H2O will puff up your pellets much quicker...and i always pre PH my H2O to 5.5-5.7

  • Yes FallenJensen, I dont know why jason didnt mention it, possibly he just doesnt know. Cutting the leaves focuses the plants energy into making roots instead of growing those leaves. Thats the main reason why you trim the leaves, not for light or mold. You would trim burnt tips or dying tips to prevent mold for sure.. As far as light i dont want much getting thru to my roots, I bunch all of my clones tight together to avoid light getting thru. Im happy with my 98% survival rate.

  • i heard that when you trim the leaves of the clones it makes the plant want to repair its self intern helping it grow faster... just what i heard..

  • you could boil the water, that will get rid of the chlorine and other toxins.

  • thats was extremely fundamental :)

  • How many generations can you clone the same strain?

  • i think indefinably or until the mother dies

  • My buddy's dad has been cloning the clones' clone's , on a Hawiian Indica strain for over 20 generations. It seems to have lost it's potency, Is this possible?

  • not really unless he changed his growing conditions. clones have identical dna so theres no reason in my eyes for this to happen.

  • I like your shirt. Good videos too.

  • Great product 100 % success for my garden. I used Ocean magic that is also a amazing product.

  • nice cloning.

  • whens the final say on bill c-15

  • Soon!
