  • Yes!!

  • I remember when I was a kid, my father would turn on the radio on chilly but sunny sunday afternoons during autumn, and we would listen to baroque music together in the drawing room. He read the different newspapers he couldn't read during the week, looking all solemn while slowly turning the pages. I am not sure if the radio ever played this particular piece, but the whole scene crossed my mind while listening.

  • ''Dead poets society'' brought me all the way here...

  • 2:00 - 2:32

I can play that on my clarinet

    :)

  • Sing to the skies!

  • ...impresionant...!

  • ilove this music because this music are in our ballet.

  • anything that starts with brass...... lovely.

  • yes ^^ the picture is of the Thames River in Lindon, England. This is commonly associated with Handel because the King would go boating down the river while having Handel and his musical fellows play for him. Hence "Handel's River Music." :)

  • To indeed be a god!

  • geil

  • lol intonation in brass at 2:20-2:30

  • There isn't too much problem, is there?

  • this is such a great version. i´m playing this peace with my orchester and now i see how bad we are. we play it sooo slow, its less than the half velossity than this

  • I love Bach and Händel.

  • THANK YOU. Finally, I've been looking all over for the first movement <3

  • Awesome!

  • Great!!!

  • The continuo is brillant!

  • Interesting fact: There's actually no continuo in the original. There was no way to bring a harpsichord onto the barge. Continuo was added later.

  • my 3rd favorite composer after Beethoven and Mozart, Handel the king of the baroque, even Beethoven himself admire him too much, who wouldn't, his oratorios, his concerti grossi, his organ works, his operas, his orchestral suites placed him amomg the greatest (counted on one hand fingers), not only from the past but for many years to come, heavenly celestial music

  • This really is brilliant!

Although I comment with little knowledge on this style of music i must say it is the most wonderful background music whilst studying. if anyone can offer any suggerstions for similar music it would be appreciated.

  • Well, I have 546 videos of music uploaded. I'm sure I've got some stuff that fits your criteria! :)

  • @JONDDAU

    telemann, J.S bach, Boyce

  • @JONDDAU anything by handel or vivaldi should do the trick.... this would be the baroque period

  • @JONDDAU Just to add my two cents-Mozart's Horn Concertos (French Horn) are superb as well.

  • This is a very good interpretation. Very crisp on strings, and very baroque in style.

  • Hooray, I've found the music we walked out of church when we were married 10 years ago!

  • Does anybody recognise the picture?? I would like to know more about it?? Thanks

  • This is "London: The Thames and the City of London from Richmond House" painted in 1747 by Canaletto.
