There was another game almost identical to this released under the name "Star Raiders II". I had both of them...that was so many years ago now...the main difference is that with this game you refuel by going to the star and on SRII you went to a base.
I downloaded this game off an Atari BBS in the mid 80s. I had an Atari 300 baud (WOW talk about progress since then) modem hooked up to my 800 XL. I programmed some serious graphic videos on that machine back then. I actually had 5 Ataris. 400 800 600XL 800XL 800XE Then Jay Miner, Atari designer, designed the Amiga. I had 4 of those. Now I use WinUAE, the Amiga emulator, to do all my graphics. Check out my vids here on TheTube. All done on an emulated Amiga 4000T. Thanks Jay... Only Amiga...

Thanks for posting. I'd hear about this one for years, but never saw it. To bad they didnt include the music from the movie. I'm a huge fan of the movie and been keeping my eyes open for this one for a long time. Too bad it wasn't like the game shown in the movie.
I agree with a lot of people here. This was one of my favorite Atari games back in the day for my XE. I loved the warping aspect and the defense versus attack of the Ko-Dan cities. Space battles were always a bit frustrating, though. The large ships attacking the frontier barrier... did anyone else ever manage to attack them when they were not attacking the barrier?

This was a great game, one of the best for Atari. I have to admit though all the warping and dragging that damn line to your next destination as your ship is being shot to hell did tend to get a little old.
I played this as a kid before I ever knew it had been a movie. Then I found a picture book version of the movie in my school library. When I saw the movie it was like a revelation I finally understood what to do in the game.
This game have some eastern eggs, for example you can see the Star Trek Enterprise (a white ship) when you are in the sun, but apparently it is at random and it is quite hard to obtain.
to the guy searching for the game name., It was called Infiltrator. You flew a helicopter near a base and then got out. You used fake passes and sleeping gas to get the documents you needed. Also both of the original Wolfenstein games were like this as well.
Awesome, this was one of the best Atari games of all. Hey, I'm trying to remember the ones (there were 2) where you played a guy infiltrating some German base, and you had to find passes, and the guards actually had minimal spoken dialogue from the Atari. You could get wounded and limp, and so on.
too bad there was very a 1040 st version of this game, a 16 bit version would have pwned this, oh well, thanks for the upload, the only version i know, i guess this is as close as well get to the arcade game, sadly...
Movie U LIE, this doesn't look like the movie I expected 32bit at least!!! :P
