Homosexuality is against God and it's against the Bible. Justin and Cody are not rebelling against the pastor, they're rebelling against the word of God. Jesus is merciful but he's also just.

How about you actually THINK about why homosexuality should be considered bad, other than the equivalent of "just because" that is "because the Bible says so". If something is bad, it should have an observable negative aspect to it, but homosexuality isn't inherently bad. Saying homosexuality is bad because of something like the promiscuity associated with it would be like saying African Americans are bad because of the gangster lifestyle associated with them. It's not accurate, nor fair.

Also, if Jesus is just as you claim he is, I would expect there to be an actual reason for why homosexuality is considered bad listed in the Bible. It never goes into detail as to why it should be considered bad. Something like adultery is obviously bad because it's a betrayal of trust, and something like alcoholism is obviously bad because it's destructive, but homosexuality isn't alone bad. There are gay people in loving, committed relationships. Gay people who are amazing, charitable, & kind.

In Brazil, where I live, there is a bill being analyzed in the Congress that makes homophobia a crime. If it passes, any religious leader who says stupid things like that can go to jail. Gay groups all around the country are struggling for the approval of this new law. We have a lot of gay bashing in Brazil and we can only hope this new law can result in a more peaceful and fair society for everybody.

I'm sorry to hear that. Here in Brazil racism is already a crime. Any racist comment directed to black people, if they press charges, the offender goes to jail. Right. We're no Brazil (unfortunatly XP) but we ARE making progress. We just have to hang in there. Human Rights movements have really come far if we think about it. Racism, homophobia still exist but hey nowadays at least I my black boyfriend and I can date without worry and my gay friends can dance with thier partners. Baby steps. Hope's still out there.
