This scene is pretty stupid. Those 3 soldiers who yell about Rhodes driving off in that ridiculous golf cart had enough ammo to kill all those zombies.

Just give them headshots in the corridor (so their numbers are much less of a problem). when they're killed, they can use the lift up using the on-board control panel and escape the others down below, advancing from the other side.

Because he's so scared he became irrational. That's what loopy means- having your normal actions so screwed that they are crossed from happiness to complete fear. He knows he's going to die by such a messed up manner that it doesn't matter. The way he dies is by slow moving people who are dead as apposed to him being alive and physically able and he can't do anything about it. The stress of what might have ended the world above and meeting him, one of the last survivors, scared his logic out

@glaxev try it, dig ur nails as hard as you can into ur skin and just pull, literally as hard as ur body is physically able. you'll do it. if u dont, then do it again. thats why they rip ppl to pieces, they do it ALOT and they bite with their most likely broken/chipped teeth. the breaks and chips would make them pointed.

@glaxev - There's plenty of real-world account of people being literally torn to pieces by a mob, using only their bare hands. It's completely believable for zombies to be able to do it.
