Unfortunately, increases in credit card fees are a result of cardholders defaulting on their purchases and "phishers" hacking the credit card numbers from stores such as TJ Maxx. Increased security for the merchant and protection for the cardholder comes at a cost shared across the credit card accepting network of businesses.
